Hello everyone, here is my battle for this week's Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge .
This week the star of the show is the Antoid Platoon card:
It is a fire splinter card which in my opinion has mainly niche usages in certain rulesets like Little League, Super Sneak, Equal Opportunity and Equalizer.
Here is the battle if you prefer to watch it for yourself.
The ruleset is as follows:
Equal opportunity and no ranged allowed, 28 mana.
Here is my lineup for the match:
The summoner of choice is Qid Yuff:
I am using it at level 6, which is the max for gold, he provides the whole team with armor piercing.
Our main tank and main damage dealer is Grum Flameblade:
I use him at level 3, he is a real powerhouse in the fire splinter when combined with Qid's armor piercing.
Second place is Tusk the Wide:
I am using it on level 4 for the inspire buff, he is really good as a second tank and overall really beefy for the 6 mana cost.
Next up is the Serpentine spy:
I got him only level 1 and in retrospect it was not worth using him.
Next spot is Radiated Scorcher:
Got him gold foil so he is level 3, he is in to remove some armor in case the opponent goes with the death splinter and uses the Ever-Hungry Skull to soak up a lot of hits with his armor, which is a really viable strategy by the way.
Next up is the star - the Antoid Platoon:
I have him at level 1 for now but plan to level him up in the future. In this match he serves the purpose to take as much hits as possible (after the smaller Hp filler cards die) to give Grum time to ramp up and kill the enemy team.
Lastly as a filler we got the Furious Chicken:
Just level 1 to soak a hit.
On to the battle:
Our opponent also went with fire and he is using all level 1 cards, so it should be an easy victory if our strategy works out. Serpentine spy manages to land a kill on the Chaos agent and was immediately taken out by the enemy's Radiated Scorcher, as I mentioned it was a mistake to use him in this ruleset, but we move on. Our chicken gets taken out and we kill the enemy's Radiated scorcher. Our scorcher goes down, antoid platoon absorbs 3 damage from the Disintegrator and we move on to round 2
Platoon gets another 3 damage hit and he finally goes down by absorbing the last 4 damage from the Lava at the end, but by doing so we bought enough time to chip at the enemy's Antoid Platoon and to position Grum for some killing blows.
Grum takes a hit from the Kobolt Bruiser but gets his turn and lands a killing blow on the Antoid Platoon which gives him a stack of Bloodlust and the 1 armor from it absorbs the 4 damage of the Living Lava.
Grum kills the Bruiser and gets another stack of Bloodlust, absorbing yet another hit with 1 armor.
Grum kills the Disintegrator.
And so the match is finished, here is the result of the battle:
As a closing though I would like to once again say that for me the Antoid Platoon is a niche card for specific rulesets, but when you get to use it it really does make a difference.
I hope that you have enjoyed the battle and if you have taken the time out of the day to chack out my post have an amazing day!
