Free To Play Mode Coming To Splinterlands
Hello Battle Mages!
A huge update awaits us this coming Tuesday in our favorite game - Splinterlands with the introduction of the Free To Play (F2P) mode. This news was posted by @royal-eagle in the Splinterlands Discord's Tech Update:
F2P mode will enable users to play the game without purchasing a Spellbook. Yabapmatt mentioned this in past townhalls that F2P will enable players to earn GLINTs without needing a HIVE account. Of course, these could still change until we see the actual F2P mode. But with the recent post, some F2P features are made clear.
What To Expect
According to a recent video from @br0nzedragon, F2P mode in Splinterlands would have the following permissions:
- Buy Cards
- Use Market Place with Credits
- Use In-Game Shop
- Combine Cards
- Open Packs
- Change Username
- Ghost Cards (Older Modern Cards)
- Can Receive Assets from Non-F2P players
- Join Guilds and Brawls
- Can't By Wild Pass
- Can't Create Tournament

As a long time player of Splinterlands, this is a very exciting development. We can now be able to present Splinterlands to our non-crypto friends. The roadblocks that players struggle with like Blockchain know-how, Spellbook purchase and others are now set aside for a while by allowing players register with just email. How about you?
