Quora's Survivability in Survival Mode

Testing out the new format - Survival Mode, I ponder a bit on what team would be viable to survive in the said format. As you might have known amidst the plethora of cards, one card can stand out. Quora. But what makes her stand out at least in the lower leagues of Survival Mode? Let's find out.

What is Survival Mode?

Let us first describe what this new format is. Survival Mode is a new ranked play format alongside Modern and Wild. In this format, all cards of any edition can be used just like Wild format. Alpha, Beta, Untamed, Chaos Legion, Rebellion and Gladiator cards are all welcome. Gladiator cards, however, can be used only if the summoner has the Conscript ability or the Ruleset is 'Are You Not Entertained?' (allowing a Gladiator card ruleset).

There are notable changes for this new format. Unlike the two formats, Survival mode requires no energy. Energy will not be used for this format as it requires other resource - cards. When a card 'dies' in battle, it can no longer be used in any ranked plays and guild brawls for a period of time. The Summoner is also considered 'dead' when the whole team loses the battle. As of this writing, only Season-long rentals can be used in Survival mode. The period of time needed to use the cards again will depend on the rarity, level and foil.

What Makes A Card Survive?

In a nutshell, cards should be very powerful in order to survive. Not as individual card but as a whole. Even if the deck wins, a card that died in the winning deck will still have cooldowns. So Martyr and low Health cards are easily dismissible in this format. For a card to survive, it should have at least high Health or regenerative abilities like Heal or Resurrect. Support cards will also be valuable here as it sustains the life of the deck. This brings us to the likes of Quora.

Quora has Heal and Bloodlust at the lower levels. For Wood and Bronze leagues it can survive as it can heal itself. For Silver it can last as long as it is supported by other healers and support cards. At Gold level, it will get Immunity making it more viable.

Closing

I'm sure there will be more viable cards like Quora in Survival Mode. As for those who are using their Chaos Legion Soulbound cards, this is the most viable one. Have you tried Survival Mode? What are your experiences with it?
