Introduction:

Another week brings an exciting proposal by @thepeoplesguild, calling the Splinterlands community to unleash their creativity once again! This time, the challenge focuses on the fictional DOMINION card set, a new class of monsters known as Domineers, designed exclusively for guild brawls. The challenge consist in inventing seven unique team-wide abilities, one for each Splinterlands element. These abilities will provide short bursts of power or minor stat adjustments, distinct from the Gladius cards’ Bloodlust ability. Get ready to shape the future of Splinterlands gameplay!

Gladius Cards:

Lets remember that Gladiator cards are exclusive Soulbound collectibles found in Gladius Cases, which cost 2,000 merits and contain five cards each. These cases can only be purchased by guild members through a Level 2 guild store, making them a rare and valuable addition to your Splinterlands deck. Gladiator cards are essential for competing in both Ranked Battles and Brawls, adding a unique edge to your team making.

What Makes Gladiator Cards Stand Out?

The defining feature of Gladiator cards is the Bloodlust ability. Whenever a Gladiator with Bloodlust takes down an enemy, all its stats get a +1 boost. This can quickly turn the tide of battle, especially when using multiple Bloodlust-enabled cards. For example, at Level 1, both Jared Scar and Grum Flameblade can dominate with Bloodlust, and when combined with a card like Chimney Wallstop, your team becomes a formidable force.

But now the Dominion set is here to replace the old Gladius card set, bringing a fresh set of defining abilities. This time instead of a single ability shared by all cards, each ability will vary based on the element of the card:

1. Life: Beacon of Protection

Effect: After a Domineer kills an enemy, he/she and adjacent units gain the Divine Shield ability.

The idea is that this ability represents the nurturing aspect of life, providing protection and resilience to allies in battle, much like a beacon guiding and safeguarding its followers.

2. Water: Healing Wave

Effect: When a Domineer defeats an enemy, the entire allied team gets healed.

The idea is that this ability represents the restorative qualities of water, illustrating how it can mend wounds and rejuvenate the spirit, allowing allies to continue fighting.

3. Death: Dark Resurrection

Effect: When a Death Domineer kills an enemy monster, the lowest-health allied monster is revived for one turn, after which it will die again.

The idea is that this ability represents the cycle of life and death, showcasing the power of the Death element to manipulate the battlefield by temporarily bringing back fallen allies, even if only for a fleeting moment.

4. Fire: Infernal Explosion

Effect: When a Domineer defeats an enemy, every enemy unit takes 1 point of physical damage. This effect will trigger again if another enemy unit is killed by this ability.

The idea is that this ability represents the destructive force of fire, illustrating how the flames can spread and wreak havoc on enemies in the wake of the Domineer’s might.

5. Earth: Bark Armor

Effect: After an Earth Domineer defeats an enemy, all allied monsters gain +1 armor.

The idea is that this ability symbolizes the unyielding strength and protection of nature, providing allies with enhanced defense to withstand enemy assaults.

6. Dragon: Draconic Surge

Effect: When a Dragon Domineer slays an enemy, all allied dragons receive +1 to their attack, magic, or ranged stat only if the unit already had any of those stats.

The idea is that this ability represents the fierce power and dominance of dragons, empowering their kin with newfound strength as they rally together in battle.

7. Adaptability:

Effect: Upon a kill, all allied monsters gain +1 to a random stat for 2 rounds.

This ability symbolizes the flexibility and resourcefulness of neutral units, enabling them to adjust their strengths to overcome challenges and maintain balance in combat.

Conclusion:

The introduction of the DOMINION card set marks an exciting evolution in the Splinterlands universe. By offering unique abilities tailored to each element, the Domineers are set to redefine strategic gameplay in guild brawls. These innovative abilities provide a diverse group of tactical options, encouraging players to experiment with new team compositions and strategies.
