In the past seasons of Splinterlands, the game has evolved in many ways, including the one-set rentals that could be done in-game. This should help new players come to the match conveniently when starting their journey playing this game. A better idea rather than giving them access to default cards that can be played. One thing also important here is when new players come and register their hive account by buying a spellbook their account is given directly 3000 credits which they can use to rent in the one-set rental page.
As the Splinterlands game is focusing on the (NPE) New Player Experience, this is their first move and many more are coming which should be marketing, etc. Although they are working on it, they need funds for it to be accomplished. That being said they have made a DHF proposal asking the hive community to fund them in a large amount. Find Here:
As soon as this proposal went live there were a lot of positive and negative comments went through this. Some say this is an "SC*M proposal" and others say "find a new home or blockchain that can support the game."
Is Splinterlands gonna get the funding or not?
On the other hand, Splinterlands tokens had been drastically down to their lowest value. Are new players taking risks to come into this game with this kind of token value? Should the game also consider the utility of tokens especially their governance token "SPS"?
To attract new players, game tokens and NFTs should have value and better utility so that new players who are coming in have confidence and trust that their money put in is worth it. This will convince them to try and if found enjoyable and rewarding that's the time new players come in.
