Brawl Report #105: Made a mistake by forgetting to submit a match in time

in Splinterlands6 hours ago

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches but I didn't win many matches this time again. It's the second time that I forgot to submit a match in time. I ended up being on a different screen and forgetting to submit my match because something more pressing happened.

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 4 wins. There were 2 free wins in this match because two guilds didn't submit someone for a match. My rewards for the brawl were 3,905 merits and 59.672 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 7th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. Our guild didn't place as well this time around but I still think the rewards are quite decent. As I said earlier, I forgot to submit one fight and got a surrender, but that was offset by one of my opponents not showing up.

Brawl fights

There were 1 that I won and 3 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match. My opponent just had the stronger lineup. The sneak monsters destroyed my backline and the Baakjira up front healed up the damage that I was doing.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match. All those melee monsters backfired on me because I couldn't kill off my opponent fast enough. The double protect also limited the damage that I could do.

image.png
You can find the third match here. I lost because of the dodge monster. I missed way too many attacks. Otherwise, I might have stood a chance. I still think that I would have lost but I wouldn't have been completely wiped.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match. I don't know why my opponent only went for Grum but I was able to win because I had more monsters. The shield monster did a good job of tanking hits while my opportunity monster did more damage.

Conclusion

I think doing 9 fights for 3,905 merits and 59.672 SPS is a good reward for the effort. My fights were a bit better this time but there were fewer free wins this time around. I do think that I messed up by not submitting a lineup in time, but I have a feeling that I would have lost that match regardless. However, there was a slight chance of victory if my opponent didn't submit a lineup or if he had a weaker lineup.

Congratulations on your free win, your wins in this one are already too low, so. Gotta take the win. Those SPS prize are juicy. When was the last time you had a great win ratio?
