Splinterlands 20th Season of Glint, Merits and SPS

in Splinterlands8 days ago

The Splinterlands season ended earlier this week so I want to review my rewards and check up on some things in the game. I have moved to Wild League after the changes to Glint rewards and I have been liking it there. I stayed in Modern League and was able to get more rewards compared to last season. It shows that I could move up a bit further so the reward difference wasn't as large. I am still going to be in modern but I don't really see myself moving over to Wild League at all given my lack of time and the cost of DEC. The new chests being added to the league advancement is good and I was able to collect some extra rewards. I am going with a strategy of purposely losing at the end of the season to get more chests rewards.

Season Rewards

I ended up with 17,257 Glint for last season, which is slightly more than the previous season. I ended up slacking off until the last few days of the season so I think I did well during that push.I also moved up further than I did the previous season as I actually made it to Gold I. I felt that it was slightly easier in Modern because I didn't lose as often and I don't know if Diamond would have been possible. I did drop my league back down to Silver I before the season ended and that took longer than I expected.

Above are my rewards from the league advancements. Just like last season, I am getting mainly common and rare cards along with some merits. There were no epic or legendary cards though so my luck just wasn't there. Even with the extra league reward, I didn't get lucky. So I hope that next season will be better.

This season, I got the above from using my glint. I decided to grab one legendary card and 1 epic cards with my Glint. The legendary card is new for me and it gives me more options, but I don't think it's that great either. It is another immunity monster so that can be good for some rulesets. As for the epic, it's another Night Reaper.

Gladius Packs

I have collected 11 packs since the last time I opened packs. The number of packs is the same as last time. The brawls weren't as bad and this report is a few days later than usual so an extra brawl just ended. So it ended up being more packs and this opening was quite good. One legendary card, one gold foil epic and one gold foil common card from this opening.

I was able to level up gold foil Karetlba Gobson to level 4. It has bloodlust, sneak, and double strike, and increasing its level increased its attack by 1. This could be quite helpful in brawls if I am in the higher brawl matches.

The next card I got was a gold foil Trapp Falloway and it starts off at level 1. It has bloodlust and weaken. I don't use this card often, but the 4 mana cost could make it quite useful in brawl fights.

The last card that I upgraded was Isgald Vorst to level 6. Increasing its level gave this card the piercing ability. This is an amazing card with bloodlust and opportunity. It's a great damage dealer and I do use this card from time to time. With the new ability, this card will be even more deadly.

SPS

My SPS rewards were higher than last time because it probably had one more brawl compared to the last report since this report was a bit late. Also, my ranked battles earned me more SPS and it's probably because I moved up to Gold I at one point in the season. The SPS from the higher leagues add up.

My pool reward for the season is 134.223 SPS. I plan on staking all of this along with all of my staking rewards for a total of 300.715 SPS. The total SPS was around what I usually expected if I factor in the extra days.

Conclusion

I am still unable to use up all my energy every single day, but I earned more Glint than the previous season. I made a new high in modern league by reaching Gold I but it also meant more time spent losing matches. I wonder how far I should drop down my league or if I should go down even lower for more chests rewards. It's hard to know but I think it might be worth it to try a bit harder at moving up and give up if it doesn't work out.

Night reaper is quite good but so much mana cost

Yes. It does cost alot of mana, but sometimes you get those high mana matches.

Congratulations on that legendary card you pulled. Most times it's always a gamble going for legendary sets. The isgald is a great card and getting that pierce ability at level six makes it a huge game changer.

It's a gamble since half of them seem a bit worthless at level 1. I agree that Isgald at level 6 is a game-changer. That pierce ability is going to be great when fighting against Keyla
