Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Silenced Summoners rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The ruleset this time is Equalizer, Silenced Summoners and Wands Out. This means that all monsters start off with the same health, no summoner effects are active and only magic monsters can be used. There is also 26 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, life, or death splinter.
The summoner I choose to use this time is Thaddius Brood. The Silenced Summoners ruleset negates any benefits so I choose this card because I wanted to play cards to their highest level.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Thaddius Brood | 4 | Summoner | |
Darkest Mage | 2 | 1st | Filler card |
Life Sapper | 3 | 2nd | Life Leech |
Venari Bonesmith | 4 | 3rd | Poison and Life Leech |
Death Elemental | 3 | 4th | Snipe |
Spirit Hoarder | 3 | 5th | Triage |
Magi Necrosi | 6 | 6th | Snipe |
Total Mana: | 25 |
My plan is just to have as many monsters as possible because of the Equalizer ruleset. I have two cards with life leech and one with poison to increase the survivability of my cards as well as to deal more damage against my opponent. I also have a few snipe monsters incase it is better to target the backline instead of the front. Triage was also included to recover any health lost from snipe or blast damage.
Round 1
At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have the stronger lineup because I have more monsters than my opponent. The only issue is that my opponent has stronger attack monsters than me. If the poison can take off enough, I should be able to also improve my chances.
Round 2
I lost one card but I have dealt a decent amount of damage to the first two cards on my opponent's side.
Round 3
With one monster on my opponent's side gone, I am finally in the advantage. I also took out the resurrect that my opponent had as well. At this point, me and my opponent will trade blows but I don't think it is possible for me to lose.
Round 4
Both me and my opponent lost a card but I don't think there is any way for my opponent to beat me anymore. With the damage that I have, I will take both cards next round because magic can't miss.
Like I thought, both cards went down and I won the match.
Conclusion
The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The lineup took full advantage of the Equalizer by placing as many cards as I could on the field. On top of that, the life leech also made my cards last longer compared to my opponent and it's too bad triage wasn't very useful. Using Thadius was a great idea as I could play cards to the highest level possible and I had a lower mana cost summoner than my opponent. So that also contributed to my advantage. Other than that, the only mistake that I may have made was using snipe monsters. It would have better to focus on the monsters to ensure my advantage and lower the chance of me losing.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
Leech combined with equalizer works really well. Good win for you there.
Yea. It's a nice combination to use.

Nice win your opponent probably forgot about the ruleset by using Grandmaster and Brightwing for the Void Armor.
No, I didn't have a fully upgraded set for gold. I'm fighting with a lower gold deck with cards that need to be upgraded. You can check out my collection delegated to @elizaenchanted XD
Oh wow nice that you fought with @jfang003 and saw his post talking about it, that is not common. The gold league is so damn tough now we have to keep upgrading our cards, I am a lot behind and still stuck with level 4 summoners.
There were a few questionable choices but I think it worked out for me. It looks like it was just a lack of options and I faced similar issues in gold foil brawls.

I was reading your post and realized wait a second, i recognize this fight! HAHA This is my alt account! This account needs to get an upgrade soon as I don't rent on this one. You already won from the get-go as in equalizer, the one with more cards will almost always win. Nonetheless congrats on the win :D
Oh, that is nice and rare. I only have 1 account and I don't rent cards at all. However, I agree that equalizer favors the one with more cards but more damage can also lead to a win.
