I know I talked about this line in the actual chapter post, but DAMN, it still gives me chillbumps thinking about it. So raw and primal, hits that lizard-brain survival response spot just right!

Barton wrenched himself out of it and resisted the urge to be sick. After it passed, he kept the images out, but let the sorrow of it wash over him.

I can't pinpoint what it is about this quote that captures me, but it captures the emotion well and leaves a perfect image in my mind.

This is one of the most scary aspect of the story, I felt goosebumps all over my body.

Maybe it hadn't been shadows after all.

Barton thought he heard someone chuckle, but when he turned to look, the path behind was empty. But he had a feeling that was far from the case.

This is my favorite part at the moment.

The girl was in love with physics and science, and Barton still wondered how he had ever managed to convince a sparky, deadly-smart girl like her to even consider dating him. How his art history background and part time library job was appealing to this engineering whiz, he could only guess.
