Let's take a trip back in time...
It's about May 2021 and just a few months before any SP air drop and the white paper hasn't even been released yet.
My addiction to buying Gold Foil Legendaries is starting to take hold of my life and it gets me dabbling into the #Splinterlands game itself. If you know my story, you'll know I;'m the furthest thing from a card gamer there is. But the legendary cards and opening Untamed packs really got me hooked!
I knew that Splinterlands had this blogging platform for players to share their battles and journey through the game and there was a token attached to it...
SPT!
I'm not sure what encouraged me to buy some but a little voice in the back of my mind said...Buy a bunch!
And while there are plenty of whales in Splintertalk, I was happy with my purchase.
40,000 SPT Tokens!
And my goal with these tokens was to start curating content, while I was learning about the game and discovering the players and the community as a whole.
Then SPS happened....
All of a sudden, my earlier buy of 40,000 SPT looked like a genius move but let's be honest...I had no idea this stuff was coming so it was blind luck. However I do believe, you get luckier with this crypto stuff, the more you show up and poke around.
Anyways, back to the SPT journey...
With SPT a major part of the SPS air drop, I decided to add SPT accumulation to my list of weekly goals on the Saturday evening #MyHiveGoals post on the @jongolson account!
First, I wanted to hit 100,000 SPT!
I did that fairly quickly!
Then I moved to 200,000 and 300,000 and flew past those goals as well...
Now I'm sitting at:
Almost 350,000 SPT with the year end goal of hitting 500,000!
And here's how I'm going to do it:
One - Consistent Content
I've been having a blast building up this account! My entire life has changed through Splinterlands so not only will I be blogging about it, but also live streaming my game play and of course...Talking about my experiences a long the way!
Two - Dollar Coast Averaging
I buy 1000 SPT every single day! At minimum!!
Regardless of what SPT is trading at, high or low, I buy 1000 tokens daily and I haven't missed a beat in months!
Three - Curation
The best part about this platform is that you are rewarded for...Liking other people's stuff! And Splintertalk has some AMAZNG creators. Not only am I learning more about the game but I'm also discovering great content and being rewarded in the process. And the more SPT I stake, the more rewards I get!
Four - Monster Curator Delegation
This is fantastic passive income for SPT holders. Right now I'm delegating 25,000 SPT tokens to @monster-curator and getting back around 25-35 SPT a day in return. This obviously fluctuates from day to day, but I get to add to my totals...With zero effort on my part all the while supporting a fantastic community based curation project!
I've ben thinking about getting into the SPT Diesel Pool as well, but I need to investigate that further. Regardless, there are SO many ways to get your SPT account growing daily in this community!
Will I hit 500,000 by the end of the year?
I believe I will! And hopefully grow my account by supporting the community that has been supporting me on this journey as well.

The ONE-UP: SPT pool has a > 300% return which is 5-10 times yer SPT curation return.
You earn ONE:UP and you can always sell some of that as the pool rewards come to an end for SPT.
If you want to sell it of course!
Yeah it's something I really need to look more into. And TribalDex makes it so much easier to get in and out of these pools!
Personally, I like beecity for pools. I feel like they show the rewards more clearly, but maybe I am just blindly not finding them properly on tribaldex!

Awesome progress here. My long term goal (2 years) for SPT has been 1 million tokens and that requires at least a daily purchase of 1,300 SPT. That isn't very possible for me at the moment, but I'll re-strategise.
I've just been rolling profits back in. SPS has been a blessing for that!

I don't have a big portfolio but I hope to hit the 10k spt stake before the year runs out.

I have the goal to reach 25000 SPT Power on my no lifer goals and I'm almost halfway! Not sure if I can reach it in less than 2 months but I can always try and push :)Just delegated 5000 SPT to @monster-curator! Everything passive is welcome!

That delegation to monster-curator certainly helps. 30-40% is nothing to sniff at given the large numbers involved. I'm sure you'll hit the big 500 by the end of the year!

You have definitely fallen down the rabbithole, lol! I am hoping my attempt at the live-streaming my game play on Sundays will help motivate me to play more. Because I need to play more period, lol. It’s been all work and has made this dude a little dull, lol.
Same here...I need to get more streams out for the gameplay. RIght now I've only commited Tuesdays...need to step it up!
This is a pretty amazing journey! So far I earned SPT only for blogging and delegating to @monster-curator ! Didn't consider to buy the tokens, which actually doesn't look like a bad idea. On the other hand there are so many other assets to buy and it is difficult to decide. SPS, SPT, DEC, cards, vouchers, packs, land plots,... only in Splinterlands, with other promising projects like @risingstargame also upcoming.
Wish you good luck on the journey! I am still just at the beginning of my journey on Hive and haven't accumulated a lot of resources, so my upvotes do not count a lot, but still try to be of help. Hey, Jon. It's nice to see that you are doing so well with SPT. One of these days I may just figure this whole play2earn stuff out and be smart enough to jump in with both feet like you.
LOL I still don't know what I'm doing....Literally, playing it by ear and just showing up everyday.
Congratulations on your progress so far. Good luck on your goals. I have been dabbling in a bunch of things, and it might be a good idea to come up with concrete goals rather than just hoping for the best as I currently do!
That's really helped me a long the way. Writing it down and working on the goals daily.

Well done, I'm just sitting at 2k SPT and lately work is taking so much time, I don't find energy to blog like in the beginning. But after year ends I hope to get into blogging and getting good content again. Maybe I should also consider buying a few SPT for a nice boost aswell. Thanks for the insight!
