Hello folks, back to posting again--day 1 of 1.
Chaos Legion Soulbound Rewards
So my scholar got the full compliment of soulbound reward cards, including many maxed out gold foils. The problem is they are tied to the scholar account. We had an agreement that once they became unlockable, we'd sell some and split the proceeds or I'd buy them off of him. The issue is it's prohibitively expense to unbound them, so bound they will stay. If my scholar ever decides on quitting, we'll have to just sell the account and split the proceeds. It's kind of frustrating because he earned all lof those cards. I get you don't want them flooding the market like with previous soulbound cards, but in my opinion they made it too expensive to unbound something that you technically already own. That leaves the issue of not actually owning the cards in my main account. I've been buying them off the market, which is not something I planned on doing. But I've collected every card in the game save the alpha edition, so it would be sad to stop now.
550k DEC to unlock one card? WITAF?
Hall of Legends
Both are kind of spendy guys
I got the just about the bare minimum to max them out and I'm this far up the leaderboard? These aren't selling.
Voucher Shop
I found myself using up my vouchers fairly quickly for not a lot of cards. After that I just bought them off the market.
I still don't know if having a single utility for a token is a good idea or not.
SPS
I've been accumulating a little SPS here and there with the goal of getting the ~1.3M needed to max out modern champion for the scholar. I might go beyond that if the price stays low for a while. It's nice to break the top 200 on the rich list.
Game Play
I've started playing again in wild with the dregs of my deck. With all of my maxed cards tied up for the scholar, older ones on land, and Rebellion on battle wagons, it's quite a slog. I've been picking up a few cards to help me as I go along. Still I manage to finish in Diamond I which I suppose isn't terrible.
Soulkeep
For me the play to earn aspect is non existent. I play tournaments every day trying to get lengendary souls with no SPS to show for it. This is quite a bit different than just getting SPS every day for holding packs. The game is also getting stale for me, and it's not clear if there's any actual development going on. Still feels like a MVP.
Thanks for reading!

Interesting to hear your take on the old soulbound cards and the new promos. I think Elanor is quite useful in wild and modern, so I needed to have her maxed, and I bought a few extra copies to throw some max versions up on the rental market. In the early days I was making 125% apy from rentals. I'm quite happy with the game play for Elanor as well. I'm curious to see if there is a flurry of buy pressure for these cards right before they go away.
It's almost over, so far I haven't moved much.
I decided to buy my last 11 GF Sanctum from the market instead of another 250 BCX from the shop. That helped me to use credits instead of DEC to finish maxing out the first set of new Rebellion promos, while still hanging onto a Top5 spot for the titles going to those burning the most DEC.
People just buying them and dumping them on the market to compete for the title?
I don't really care about the title since land bores me tremendously. But I am a bit of a completionist, so I bought the cards because I wanted the max GF and I thought I would be able to make a decent return renting the max RF copies. That's what I did with Elanor to get my last 2 GF copies, I bought 50 BCX and maxed out 4 RF to put on market.
Welcome back brother, your splinter looking good
Thanks!
welcome back, you have an awesome account 👍😀
Thanks!
I think they give people opportunity to unbind with the prospect that they might one day earn some monetary value from them. Unfortunately they know that if they made it cheap, then a lot of people would do it and then it wouldn't have as much value as as when it's cheaper to unbind.
Congratulations on your SPS, 751k is huge, I guess less than 500k more to get to 1.2M I wish you well.
Thanks. If you don't unbind them, you really didn't play to earn anything, quite the contrary.
good post, I do think the cards are a bit too expensive to unlock. Had to really think what witaf meant 🤣
Thanks!
