A peculiar new bud appeared at the tips of the highest branches of the Elder Tree. The animals living in the tree watched as the strange buds grew, and in a matter of days , burst open. From each bud zoomed forth a tiny sprite. These Wood Nymphs quickly scattered around Anumün in a frenzy of mischief.

Wood Nymph is a monster with common rarity belonging to Earth splinter. Wood Nymph has two abilities, one is the Tank Heal ability available at level 1, and another is Strengthen available in level 6.
Ability:
  • Tank Heal restores a portion of the monster's health in the first position (the position were we usually place our tank). The heal is equivalent to the 1/3 of the max HP rounded down.
  • Strengthen ability provides additional 1 HP to all friendly monster. This 1 HP can be vital as it may increase the regeneration from healing abilities.

You can see the stats of Wood Nymph in each level below.

Battle rules and strategy

In Splinterlands, in every round there will be a random ruleset, mana capacity, and available Splinter (or Element) that will be the basis of our strategy in choosing which cards to use.

Let's now explain the rules in this matched:

  • Equalizer - This makes the health of all monsters equal to the highest health in any team. With this rule, we want to deploy as many monsters as possible since even a monster with 1 HP can have an HP of 10+ if there will be other monster with this health. This is also ideal for glass cannon monsters (high attack with low hp).
  • Available Splinters were Earth, Death, and Life.
  • Mana capacity of 25

Splinter Mana Position Reason
Obsidian 4 Summoner The additional +1 Magic damage from our summoner increase all our monsters magic attack.
Mycelic Morphoid 1 1st A 1 Mana monster suitable for this ruleset as it can act as sandbag to protect our backline monsters. Intially with 2 HP, it now has a 6 HP from the Equalizer rule.
Failed Summoner 2 2nd With its Reflect ability, it can return the reduced magic damage when it received magic attacks from the enemy. It has an initial health of 4 HP but because of the Equalizer rule, it had a max of 6 HP which is good enough to absorb more hits, and eventually return it if its magic attack
Goblin Psychic 63rdOne of the new healers from Chaos Legion cards. It has a 2 Magic damage attack and a Tank Heal ability.
Wood Nymph 44thOne of the original healers with low mana. This is a good combination with Goblin Psychic as both have Tank Heal ability and Magic attack.
Mushroom Seer55thAnother Magic damage monster with a SILENCE ability. This ability reduces the magic damage of enemy monsters by 1, negating the buff provided by the enemy summoner.
Goblin Sorcerer36th Magic damage with Sneak ability. This will come handy as its target the backline support of our enemy. In this match, you can see that the Goblin Psychic on enemy side will be killed by our Goblin Sorcerer, getting rid of there healer.

Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using blockchain technology, players can buy, sell, and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.
