2024 is soon history, and for the occasion Splinterlands asks for the most epic battle of the year from our community members, and goals for the upcoming year.
Here, I will share my best battle, talk about my favorite card combination, and what will be my focus for at least the start of 2025.
My best battle
This battle is my favorite of the year for a few reasons. (To be fair, I cannot remember that many matches beyond the last few days, but I remember being particularly satisfied with this one).
This was a match in the Splinterlands 6'th year anniversary. Being a tournament match, I knew who I was playing, and in this case it was danderlion, who I know is a highly skilled player. This had a big influence on my team selection for this match.
At 15 mana, I knew that no-attack cards such as Pelacor Conjurer, Failed Summoner, Chaos Agent etc are very powerful, and highly likely to be picked. I did so myself too, but the essential inclusion in my team is the Grenadier. My backline unit has both Snare, Blast and Oppress - Perfect for taking down the aforementioned no-attack cards.
As the first round of the match plays out, the Failed Summoner does a good job of tanking the incoming damage, aided by a Tank Heal from the backline, but after the Grenadier strikes with Oppress, it can't put of much of a fight anymore.
In the next round, Grenadier continues to be the MVP, striking down Epona in one shot. After that, there is not much fight left in my Opponent's team. Safe to say there was no better way to spend 3 mana for this match than by including Grenadier!
Thanks to securing this match, and a few other good ones I was able to secure a 4th place in the 6 year tournament. That was a very big accomplishment for me this year.
Favorite card combination over the year
One of my most used card combinations this year is this trio. It is absolutely devastating unless the opponent has a strong magic resistant setup like Immortalis with a silence or two. The value gained here for 10 mana is beyond what should be allowed. This is a go-to for most of my brawl matches where I can rely on Helmet being available.
Helmet tends to become a monster in these setups. He gains a lot of health from Scavenger, and with Bloodlust triggering both on his direct kills and from Magic Reflect/Return Fire kills, he often snowballs out of control and dominates the match entirely. Since I typically play wild frays in my brawls, this combo will stay with me in the future, and I'm sure I will play it many many more times.
2025 focus: @rapidsps
The @rapidsps service will be my main occupation in Splinterlands beside playing battles. We provide this service to members of the Splinterlands community that would like to have their sps rewards immediately available.
We take a small fee for the service: currently 4% for new users. Long term users unlock lower fees after claiming certain amounts of SPS with our service. Check out the posts at @rapidsps for info about the discount tiers!
Thanks for your attention. I hope 2024 was a good year for you in Splinterlands and that you will stay for all the awesome stuff that will come in 2025!
Best wishes

Not my guildmate Danderlion getting owned in your BotY!
Good luck with your RapidSPS service. I'm saving almost 20K SPS each season!
Wow, 20K! Where is all that coming from?
Ranked rewards total about 6K each ranked season, although it has been trending downward as I play fewer battles (not spending glint on energy) for a slightly smaller share of the ranked SPS prize pool.
The biggest source of my SPS income comes from SPSDAO tournaments. I can make well over 10K SPS each season by consistently making Day2 finishes in the big invitational and gold foil events.
I try to post my ranked rewards report card each season, so you can take a peek at my income breakdown. Curating a gold foil collection helps a lot!
