The new Splinterlands season reward system is simply awesome!

Splinterlands recently changed the daily and season rewards system from the last season. For those who are reading about Splinterlands for the first time, well, when you play battles on Splinterlands then you can battle for an entire season (14 days). Based on your daily battle results, you earn daily rewards, besides earning DEC of course and one also receives rewards when the season ends. Typically rewards include DEC, cards, card packs, potions, and credits. To understand each of the aforementioned prizes, I would encourage you to explore the links shared before and read Splinterlands blogs from thousands of users.

Anyway, back to the update. Earlier, rewards were limited based on the player's level. For example, I could only earn 1 or 2 daily rewards and 7 or 9 season rewards, depending on the level at which I finished my season (Level depends on a player's rating & power. Rating is determined based on how many games one wins during a season and power reflects the number and level of playing cards a player has). I hadn't rented cards till now so I have not been able to go up in levels but my rewards were always limited.

Based on the new system, the limits have gone. I can keep playing games and earn season and daily rewards based on my wins and I don't think there is a limit.

Daily rewards are earned when playing with a daily focus which is typically based on an Element - Fire, Earth, Water, Life, Death & Dragon. Based on a new post, even that will change are daily rewards will be earned no matter which Splinter one plays with, albeit the reward points earned will be lower.

We are working on implementing new daily focuses based on using cards with certain abilities, rather than just cards from a certain element.

We are also considering changing the daily focus mechanic such that instead of an "all-or-nothing" system like it is currently, each win will always contribute rshares toward the daily focus chests even if no daily focus cards are used, however, each card used that follows the daily focus gives some type of bonus to the amount of focus points earned for that battle.

I simply love the current changes and also the ones that are going to be introduced.

The above screenshot is from the previous season I played. As you can see, I earned many more rewards chests than I was earning earlier. I finished the season with 32 season chests I think, and I was easily earning 4 to 5 daily reward chests.

This is a much stronger incentive to increase engagement on the platform. Splinterlands is one of the most successful play2earn gaming dapps and anything to increase engagement is welcome. A small investment, in the beginning, can help earn DEC and other rewards through daily engagement. For those looking to earn during the current crypto slump, I must say that not only is Splinterlands a great way to avoid all the negative price action, but it also helps earn DEC.

I encourage anyone reading this post to check out the game. The change in the reward system is great for those players who tend to play the game a lot. The more you play, the more you earn!

Check out my latest battle here.

Indeed, the new changes have been welcome and resulted in a nice haul of chests at the end of the day. I did notice something different the next time I played though. There seemed to be a much larger "wall" to qualify for that first chest (maybe it was always there and I hadn't noticed it). I had to stop playing after awhile as I couild never advance to qualify for even one chest. It could be that the competition was much tougher, but it felt like something had been changed which increased the initial barrier when going for that first chest. Just wondering if anybody else saw that.

I kind of feel that too.. that initially it take longer to earn chests. However, I think it is formula based. and maybe the initial level that one starts from impacts that. I think a better look at the math may help.

Dear @karamyog, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago when the HBD stabilizer proposal rose above it.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work?
