Card Highlights #04: Countess Sinash
────────────◈◉◈────────────
" We are allies my dear which can be a good deal more effective. "
- Countess Violet Grantham from Downton Abbey
────────────◈◉◈────────────
I've been using a lot of Yodin Zaku since I played so I felt like it should be good to introduce some units that are very useful when used with him. Countess Sinash is a unit that I don't see a lot of people play unless they use Yodin Zaku so I thought it would be cool to make her the star of the blog for this week.
Lore
Sinash was born a noble of house Beliathorn. Her mother, the countess, was brought up used to the lifestyle and was bitten by a vampire in her 30s. Her father had not a penny to his name but married into the family through charisma and charm. He was never turned into a vampire but Sinash always suspected something odd about him. A man who started with nothing wound up incredibly wealthy. It’s rare to see a commoner work their way to fit in with the rich but he somehow pulled it off.
Sinash’s parents owned the grand Beliathorn Manor where they had numerous servants to tend to them and their gardens. The family often attended lavish parties and gatherings with other noble houses and rarely stayed in their home. Though, every now and again, her parents would invite a large gathering of people over for a secret ceremony. It wasn’t until she was older that Sinash would learn what the secret was.
Buy and Rental Costs
The price tag for the level 1 and level 2 are pretty far. You can get a level 1 for $1.79 and a level 2 for $5.46. If you want a level 2, just buy three level 1. It only costs 5.37 and you will have a discount of $0.09. It's not big but it's still less than the cheapest level 2. |
Since you would be using Countess Sinash mostly in Bronze and Silver, your options would be the 0.67 DEC for the level 1 and 1.10 DEC for the level 2. |
Card Stats
Countess Sinash's stats are quite decent for an 8 mana cost unit. Even if her damage and speed is high, her health is only 4 making it deadly to use. However, this weakness is covered by her Camouflage ability making it even. |
Card Effects
Opportunity |
Opportunity allows Countess Sinash to target the lowest health units first. This is useful for eliminating units at the back since normally, you put higher health units at the front.
Camouflage |
Camouflage is also good for Countess Sinash. Despite having 8 mana cost, her health is low and she can die in a couple of turns. Camouflage eliminates her as a target until she is on the 1st position allowing her to deal damage througout the battle.
Swiftness |
Speed is important as they increases the chance of opponent missing as well as determining who attacks first. Even if your opponent's unit is strong, if all your units attack first, the opponent's overall damage should go down by killing the back line units first.
Affliction |
Affliction is good against heal and tank heal heavy teams. However, in Countess Sinash's situation, Affliction is not as useful due to 2 main reasons. First, she has opportunity ability which targets the lowest health units first, and most of the time, the tank unit is the one with the highest health. Second, Tank heal ability only heals units in the 1st position. Unless the tank is super low, Countess Sinash would not likely to target it making this Affliction useless in my opinion.
Blast |
This ability is really good when combined with target altering abilities such as Scattershot and Opportunity.
Normally, the lowest health unit is placed in the middle part for protection against attacks from the front and back. Opportunity combined with Blast is perfect for these situations as they get to damage at least 3 units per turn.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Her range damage is very compatible with Yodin Zaku, one of the best summoners in the game. Not only her damage but her abilities are also built to be used by Yodin Zaku. The opportunity targets the units with lowest health, which are mostly in the middle, making full use of Yodin's blast. Camouflage also protects her to last a couple more rounds as she inflicts more and more damage. |
I see two weakness for Countess Sinash. First, it needs a high mana to use her. For 8 mana, that's two 4 decent units. Her damage is okay but not amazing. The stats of the current units, won't one-hit a 3 range damage especially since the attack doesn't go pass through armor. Second, she still has low health. Even though she cannot be targetted by attacks because of Camouflage, it doesn't mean she won't get damaged. Earthquake, Poison from Noxious Fumes, Blast, Return Fire, Scattershot. All of these damages a camouflage unit and a hit or two will kill Countess Sinash immediately. |
When To Use
Holy Protection |
Since you would most likely use Countess Sinash with Yodin Zaku, Holy Protection would not going to be a problem. Blast will take care of those Divine Shields given by the rule set and Countess Sinash will make sure that she would take out most of it as much as possible.
Close Range |
While it is not advisable for Countess Sinash to take the front, it's still better that she can attack the opponent once she takes the front when it comes to the last unit.
Aim True |
While Countess Sinash has high speed, she still does range attack, which means that it can miss. Aim True makes sure that range and melee units will always hit their target making sure you do a good chunk of damage each round.
When Not To Use
Back to Basics |
Without abilities, Countess Sinash is bad. Her 3 damage is not good enough for the 8 mana that you used. As an example, Spark Pixies and Fire Elemental are both Fire units with 4 mana. If you use these two units instead of Countess Sinash in this rule set, you will have a total of 4 damage, and extra 1 than just Countess Sinash.
Earthquake |
Countess Sinash's low health makes her very unplayable on rule sets that inflicts damage on her health like Earthquake and Noxious Fumes.
Reverse Speed |
Countess Sinash's high speed makes it very dangerous for her to be played in this rule set. Not only that, her third ability, Swiftness, furthermore cripples your team and make you miss more. With 8 mana, you can do a lot more using other units than Countess Sinash in Reverse Speed.

Use as many range units as possible to make full use of Yodin Zaku. One thing I learned though, is you must use range units with high speed. Units like Tinderlock might look good on paper but in action, his 2 speed is really bad. Your main goal is to eliminate as much unit from the opponent's side as possible before their turn even starts.
Final Thoughts
I like Countess Sinash because of the combinations of her abilities. I am a fan of Opportunity and I think it's one of the strongest abilities in the game. This is because it's one of the abilities that can reach the middle part of the line up which is really hard to defend against.
Her high speed, damage, combined abilities of Opportunity and Blast, she's quite deadly for any opponents unless they lock in a taunt-centered team like Shieldbearer.

I indeed don't see her that often on the battlefield. I like it that you mention occasions when you could and better not use her!
Great article!
I was in Silver for like a season or two before and the I saw her quite a bit. Unfortunately, all of those are her with a full Yodin team because of Swiftness. I fought her again recently so I was reminded and decided to make her the topic for this week.
Thank you for reading my blog and dropping by.
