Hello again, my coffee loving friends. Today, come and join me in an exciting pack opening and see if we can pull out a golden legendary card from the Chaos Legion Series.
Pack animation spotlight.
Chaos Legion opening pack animation is really cool and gives a sense of excitement and with that, let's proceed to the main event, the pack opening!
I wonder what these cards will open up as? Each pack consists of 5 cards with at least 1 guaranteed rare.
This is the 1st pack of the week.
Card Number | Card Name | Rarity | Cost |
---|---|---|---|
Card 1 | Venari Knifer | Common | $0.02 |
Card 2 | Venari Scout | Common | $0.02 |
Card 3 | Thaddius Brood | Rare | $0.64 |
Card 4 | Goblin Psychic | Common | $0.09 |
Card 5 | Dax Paragon | Epic | $0.54 |
Total | $1.31 |
There are two notable cards here, Thaddius Brood and Dax Paragon.
Dax Paragon has magic damage that passes through armor and never misses. It's a better choice than the starter Xenith Archer. I can use Dax Paragon as an extra when I have extra 2 mana left for my battles.
Thaddius Brood is a Death Summoner. He is a good generic summoner due to his -1 Max Health reduction. Even if your opponent doesn't use magic units, all units have health and will always be affected by this card. Thaddius Brood is a really good summoner that is effective at all times.
This is the 2nd pack of the week.
Card Number | Card Name | Rarity | Cost |
---|---|---|---|
Card 1 | Radiated Brute | Common | $0.02 |
Card 2 | Chaos Knight | Common | $0.04 |
Card 3 | Obsidian | Common | $0.74 |
Card 4 | Carrion Shade | Common | $0.49 |
Card 5 | Flying Squid | Common | $0.04 |
Total | $1.33 |
There are two notable cards here, Carrion Shade and Obsidian.
Obsidian is an Earth Summoner. If I can get a few more Thaddius Brood, I can level him up and this would reduce my weekly rentals as I can focus on getting Earth units instead since I already have the summoner with a level that can support them.
Carrion Shade is a 1 mana cost unit. Normally, you can just play this card when you have excess mana but you can combine a number of 1 mana cost cards with units that have the Protect ability to make a good front. In addition to this strategy, the one I got is a gold foil. This gives me an extra 10% boost in focus point which is very useful when I get to higher league rank.
Quick Comment: I wonder why Carrion Shade doesn't have Scavenger ability? Quote: "A carrion shade is a dark-winged bird that feeds off of the dead bodies of animals and people."

Some Parting Words
As expected, it was a loss overall. For $1.50 for each pack, I got a $1.31 total on one and $1.33 on another. I'm just happy that it is not as bad as I had anticipated.
I am thinking if I should just buy a card next time since I feel like it would be more efficient but there is something about gacha that make you want to take the risk.
The cheapest Gold Rare card is Life Sapper at $2.08 so if I get at least a gold rare, then I would get more than what I paid. Do you think packs are worth buying or should I buy single cards instead?
