ITS ALL ABOUT MAGIC - SPLINTERLANDS BRAWLS

in Splinterlands2 years ago (edited)

Magic damage is the key element in this game. It's a matter of either countering magic damage or utilizing it to my advantage! These brawls showcased the sheer power of magic damage monsters in this particular ruleset. Witness how I emerged victorious in my matches by employing this strategic approach.

BATTLES

GAME 1

The first game proved to be challenging. The enemy banned QUORA but picked it himself, so I opted for MYLOR CROWLING and MYCELIC INFANTRY to counter melee damage. I hoped that my damage output would surpass the enemy's due to the THORNS ability. However, I failed to consider the TARGET PRACTICE ruleset, rendering my KHMER PRINCESS useless.

GAME 2

In the second match, my primary strategy was to capitalize on magic damage and fully exploit the EQUALIZER ruleset. I selected WOOD NYMPH for her TANK HEAL ability, aiming to counter any SNEAK or physical damage monsters. To ensure the safety of my creatures, I implemented a double PROTECT strategy, providing them with ample protection. Interestingly, the enemy also chose magic damage, but the disparity in damage output became evident, leading to my victory in the game.

GAME 3

I maintained the same strategy as the second game, but I made a mistake by selecting GOBLIN THIEF. Fortunately, my damage output exceeded that of the enemy, resulting in my victory in the game, even without GOBLIN THIEF contributing anything.

GAME 4

I employed my favorite strategy in my DEATH deck, which involved selecting SKOK and positioning two damage-less monsters beside him to grant them a +1 magic damage buff. However, the enemy had a superior damage output and stronger defense.

GAME 5

It was a clash of magic versus magic, water against earth, the old generation against the new one. Thanks to my higher damage output and my FAILED SUMMONER, which removed their DIVINE SHIELD, my damage dealers effortlessly finished off the remainder of their team.

GAME 6

I opted for another strategy centered around a heavy magic lineup, while the enemy chose range damage. My double PROTECT strategy proved highly effective against their physical damage, buying valuable time for my damage dealers to dismantle the enemy team.

GAME 7

Anticipating the enemy's utilization of the LLAMA-QUORA combo given the FOG OF WAR ruleset, I prepared my anti-magic lineup and implemented a double HEAL strategy to render their one-man army ineffective.

AFTERWORDS

After achieving consecutive rank 1 finishes in our brawls, we fell short this time but managed to secure second place. I discovered that in the LITTLE LEAGUE ruleset, with its high mana cap, selecting magic monsters proved to be highly effective against any opponent. The combination of the DOUBLE PROTECT ability and magic damage, which bypasses armor, made for a solid strategy that resulted in numerous victories.
