Strategy
First of all: Strategically, I have seen in my attacks that they usually only gave strength of the army, toughness of the army and some even tax efficiency leveled, which is strategically quite good in my opinion, moreover, you don't have to know about the game yet, but you can already click a bit and above all claim the first rewards. You then discover the secrets of the game all by yourself and adapt your strategy to the new findings.
I've already been able to cash out my investment, so I'm not paying out at the moment, I'm using all my denarius to level up my stats until I increase the mine level to 2, then I'll start paying out again.
Strategie
Vorweg Strategisch habe ich bei meinen angriffen gesehen das die meist zuerst nur Stärke der Armee, Zähigkeit der Armee und manche auch noch Steuerliche Effizienz gelevelt gaben das ist meiner Meinung nach Strategisch ganz gut außerdem man muss noch nicht über das spiel wissen kann aber schon etwas klicken und vor allem die ersten rewards beanspruchen. Die Geheimnisse des Spiels entdeckt man dann von ganz alleine und passt seine Strategie den neuen Erkenntnissen an.
Ich habe mein Investment bereit wieder auszahlen können daher zahle ich im Moment nicht aus, ich verwend e meine gesamten Denar zu auf leveln meiner Stats bis ich das Mine Level auf 2 erhöhe dann werde ich wieder zum auszahlen beginnen.

How do I calculate my past expenses??
It's not that difficult, you just have to add up mine and vault levels. This would also work with the Army Stats and Tax Efficiency, but since the costs for the respective levels are the same here, I have combined them in one calculation.
