Healing is one great ability for a team to possess in a battle. With this ability, wounded warriors get treated and healed and this strengthens them to move ahead and fight for victory.
While this can be applied in human battles or wars, it can also be applied in Splinterlands game. Monsters with healing ability Restores their health or the health of their team mate. In doing this, the Monster with restored health will be motivated to continue the fight.
In this tutorial, I will explain the healing abilities in Splinterlands and you've suggestions on how to use them. Lest I forget, this video is directed to all Newbies and beginners. You can check out my previous video on detailed Beginner's Guide to Splinterlands Battle. Click here
THE 3 HEALING ABILITIES
In Splinterlands, we have three healing abilities: Heal, Thank heal and Triage.
Ability | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
HEAL | Restores a portion of the Monster's health each round | |
TANK HEAL | Restores a portion of the Monster in the first position's health each round. | |
TRIAGE | Heals the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage. |

WHEN AND HOW TO USE THE HEALING MONSTERS IN BATTLE
I will share few suggestions that work for me. You can choose to try them out or find what best suits you.
- When you have a battle with large mana cap, endeavour to place at least 1 Monster with the healing ability.
- Try not to place a Monster with healing ability at the first position , except if it is a Monster with the HEAL ABILITY.
- If it is a Monster with the heal ability, be sure that the Monster is a great Monster at the first position.
- Try not to place the Monster with tank heal or Triage ability at the last position so that it won't be a target for the Opponent's Sneak Monster.
- Using dual healing support is also nice for your battle, but make sure it is planned, such that your other Monsters are capable of defeating your opponent.
BATTLE EXAMPLE
At this juncture, I am going to share an example of a battle where I used 2 healing Monsters.
In the video above, I also explained why I chose the different Monsters.

RULES OF THE BATTLE
The rules of the game were:
- Standard Game: which means no changes, modification or addition to the normal playing techniques.
- Mana Cap of 28
- Elements that can be used include all: Water, fire, Earth, light, death and dragon.
MY STRATEGY AND LINE-UP
For my strategy, here are my Summoner and Monsters, and I'll tell you why I chose each Summoner and Monsters.
MY SUMMONER
Obsidian
I chose OBSIDIAN so that all my Monsters will have additional magic attack since I planned on using a magic attack team. This will favourite themed Monster also.
MY MONSTERS
Monster Name | Image | Reason for Choosing |
---|---|---|
Venari Knifer | Venari Knifer is always my number 1 choice because of her attack and defense strategy. Her Thorns makes her defensive and her attack effect of 3, also makes her a great offensive player. The Gold Plated Venari Knifer is always a great choice. PS: The card is mine 😉 | |
Goblin Psychic | I placed it at this point to continously Strengthen my first attacker. So while my Venari Knifer has is both offensive and defensive, she is always Strengthened by Goblin Psychic. Isn't that crazy? 😀😀😀 | |
Spirit Hoarder | My wonderful Legendary card 😁😁😁 His ability of Triage is quite necessary as it strengthens and heals the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage. I placed this Monster at this position to continously strengthen the Mycelic Slipspawn as it draws all attacks to herself. In doing this, her life span increases while she draws the attention to herself. Then my other Monsters can attack my opponent's Monsters without being attacked for a while 👻 | |
Mycelic Slipspawn | I chose this monster because of its Taunt ability. All my opponent's Monsters will attack only this card. Thus, it draws away their attention from my first position Monster. And with the Triage ability of my Legendary Spirit Hoarder, its life gets Strengthen. Thus, this increases the duration of the diversion of hits. |
As expected, I won the battle 😋😋
