Sailors tell many tales of the dangers of the Cruel Sethropods. Armed with strong pincers and teeth as sharp as spears, they attack anything that gets within range. It is nearly impossible to remove a Cruel Sethropod once it has latched on, and many a sailor has the scars to show where they ventured too close.
The Cruel Sethropod is an amazing low cost tank. He has a fairly high Health ❤️ and Armor 🛡, which would make a huge difference when you are facing against Melee and Ranged attackers. I use him a lot in any kind of setup just to buy time for my backline to destroy their enemies.
The Sethropod is very useful and it is worth to buy or rent the golden version of him especially with the incoming new reward system. 😎
The Cruel Sethropod cost only 3 mana, which makes him the perfect pick for the Little League ruleset, where you can only use Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 mana or less in a battle. His stats are not the best by far, but the addition of Armor makes him sustain few attacks before he dies. 😊
Unfortunately the Sethropod doesn't have any additional abilities through his journey to Level 10, but if you can afford to get a golden version of him he will make up for you. 😇

Alric Stormbringer
When the Chaos Legion came out and Alric Stormbringer left the free to play field of the Splinterlands I came across with Kelya and, because it was much cheaper to rent him and his gang than Alric I played with him a lot. Recently (last 2-3 season) I changed my I perspective and I am playing exclusively with the good old Alric.
He raises the Magic Damage 🔮 of his creatures by one, which is amazing. The most important thing using Magic Damage is that it will ignore the Armor of the enemy creatures.
The Hardy Stonefish is one of the better 1 mana cost creature, because he has Armor on his Level 1, which makes him to block 2 attacks if it comes from Ranged or Melee. Unfortunately I didn't have luck to block 2, but just 1, because their Magic Damage pierced through his armor.
As a bullet eater he is quite alright and I am using him a lot especially the golden version of it. 🤑
The Cruel Sethropod and the Hardy Stonefish are cheap creatures therefore I could fit much more damage into my backline to destroy my opponent creatures much more quicker.
Even though my enemy killed my Sethropod with two attack (his Armor never even triggered) he bought enough time for his teammates to deal enough damage to destroy the enemy creatures. ☠️
I think the Djinn Oshannus is easily within the top 5 best monster in the whole Splinterlands. He is srong as a tank and as a damage dealer as well. Alric makes him a beast and the speed is so high that he is almost always attack first in any battle. The Djinn Oshannus has an ability of Void, which reducing the damage from Magic attacks targeting him.
He is simply the King of the Hill if it comes playing with the blue splinter and I try to include him in any setup where he fits. 👑
The Axemaster has got a similar role as the Djinn Oshannus, because I am playing him whenever and wherever I can. He is clearly a Damage Dealer 💪. Usually I rent him on Level 3 for around 15-20 DEC, where he receives a whooping increase of damage making him damaging 3.
The Double Strike ability allows him to attack twice in every round with high speed making him quite a terrifying monster. 😱
The Ice Pixie is an excellent low cost addition to Alric, because she will receive +1 Magic Damage from him. For 2 mana cost, damaging 2 Magic Damage is huge if the enemy doesn't have any protection against it. The extra ability of Flying (Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.) makes her evade some attacks if the luck 🍀 is on her side. Yeah it worked very well against the Uraeus evading an attack from him.
The Xenith Archer is not much of a creature on Level 1 and I used as a filler in this battle, because she cost only 2 mana and if the enemy doesn't have any Sneaker she might make some damage to the enemy creatures. 😉
The Battle has turned out as I expected with a Win 😇. In a Kelya VS Alric matchup clearly Alric has got the upper hand, because the Armor 🛡 from Kelya doesn't really works that much and even though my opponent brought Djinn Oshannus his rest of the team setup was not that strong to manage to kill mine.
The combination of Djinn Oshannus 🔮 and the Axemaster 🏹 works really well together just need to place them into a safe spot within the backline.
The ruleset was Target Practice where all the Ranged and Magic damage creatures receives the Snipe ability, so they will targets the enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position. This mechanic would require a little bit of planning when you are setting up your team, because the Ranged and Magic damage from the enemy team will hit our backline straight away.
The Sethropod and the Stonefish took 3 attacks before they died to protect my Djinn Oshannus who was waiting to became the next tank and in the meantime damaging the enemy backliners. It was a big mistake for my opponent not to use some smaller tanks front of his Djinn Oshannus, because all the damage I made was hitting their backline monsters. 😊
