Social Media Challenge | How to beat a higher levelled team?

Overview

Today I brought a battle where I would play with my favorite Splinter, which is the Water. I also like their Summoners, because they are versatile and also powerful. The Water Splinter has a lot of answer to many threats and they are very good to surprise your opponent! 😁


My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)

RulesetDescription
FerocityAll monsters have the Fury ability.
Fog of WarMonsters lose the Sneak and Snipe abilities.
Broken ArrowsRanged attack Monsters may not be used in battles.

The mana cap for my next battle is 38, which is quite good, because I do not really like to setup a team with less than 20-25 mana. The 38 is enough to pick few mana heavy monster, which will help a lot to hopefully take advantage over my opponent. 😆

The Ferocity ruleset will give the Fury ability to all the monsters on the battlefield and that means that all of the monsters will deal double damage against a target if they have the Taunt abiliy.

The Fog of War ruleset will completely eliminate the possibility to hit a monster anywhere in the backline and that is why I like this ruleset. It is much easier to setup a team and no need to worry about the squishier monsters.

The Broken Arrows ruleset is not a big problem as well, because it only removes the Ranged attack monsters from either side of the battlefield and there would till be plenty of alternatives. 😇

My lineup

I used Possibilus the Wise to take advantage of his amazing abilites. First of all he gives +2 health to all of his monsters, but more importantly he gives the Trample and Reach abilities as well, which means that the monster in the second position will be allowed to attack and thanks to the Trample ability any Melee attack monster who kills an enemy will be able to get an extra attack in that round. 😊
Baakjira will be my tank for this game, because I he is quite resilient against the Magic attacks, so if my opponent would bring many of them he will be able to sustain a lot of damage. His mana cost is only 6 as well and he also got a lot of health. 💪

The Kulu Mastermind is a very special monster, because he has the Weapon Trainings ability, so he will give his own attack to the non-attack monsters adjacent of him. Thanks to the Reach ability he will be able to attack from the second position. 😉
Noa the Just is quite cheap costing only 5 mana, but he doesn't have too much health in return, but at least he got some armors. His strong features are his high speed and the Rust ability, so he will decrease all the enemy armors by two as long as he is alive. 😜

The Daarg Deadblast is also a Weapon Trainer, but in his case he will give his own magic attack to his neighbourghs, while he is also be able to damage his enemies. 😋
The Meerdali Guardian will be my main and only one healer in this lineup and her role is very important to keep my fronline alive. On her own she doesn't have any damage, but my Daarg Deadblast made her quite a good damage dealer as well and for only three mana. 🤗

The Chaos Agent cost only one mana, which is very cheap, but he doesn't have any damage at all and I used him at the back of my lineup if my opponent choose to have a monster with the opportunity ability. 😅

My opponent brought Franz Ruffmane, who is a reward Summoner and he is able to bring Gladius monsters if he wants, which are pretty strong if they manage to kill their target. He also gives +1 armor to all of his monsters, so they will be able to block the first Melee attack targeting them. 😌

In the first round almost every monsters of mine attacked before their enemies, because they had much higher speed and they almost killed their Imperial Knight.

He was lucky and survived the first round, but in the second round my quick monsters finished the job and their Pelacor Conjurer became their tank. Compared to his mana cost the Conjurer held up pretty long and my team only managed to kill him in the middle of the third round. He also dealt a lot of damage back to my magic attack monsters, because of his reflect ability. 😲

Luckily only low health monsters left in their team, but their Helmet Kharafax who is a Gladius monster gave some headache to my team, because he had the Void and Magic Reflect ability, which sadly killed my Meerdali Guardian. 😒

In the fifth round my Melee attack monster finally got rid of him and only their Djinn Renova left for the sixth round, where she died against my Kulu Mastermind. 😇

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy was to bring a strong tank who is very good against the magic attacks in case my opponent would try to build their team around and I was very lucky to pick Baakjira who mitigated a lot of incoming damage throughout the battle and was even able to survive the battle thanks to my Guardian. 😊

I also took advantage of my Weapon Trainers in order to increase the attack capabilities of my non-attack monsters, which made a huge difference for the end result of the battle. 😁
