Overview

Today I brought a battle with an amazing Summoner in a very special ruleset where only Melee attack monsters will be allowed to use. I picked up the Byzantine Kitty for this battle, because she is a Dragon Summoner and such she will be able to use the Dragon monsters as well, which is amazing in a battle where the mana cap is 99! 😊

My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)

RulesetDescription
Up Close & PersonalOnly Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles.

The mana cap for my next battle is 99, which is the maximum amount you can get in a battle and on top of that all the Splinters will be available to choose from and it will be interesting to see what will make the difference between our teams in order to win this battle! 😇

The Up Close & Personal ruleset is the only one ruleset in this battle, but it heavily changes the strategies and tactics for both teams, because it only allows the use of Melee attack monsters.

It is best to choose a Summoner that increases or reduces the Melee attack of the monsters or Mylor who gives the Thorns ability to his monsters. Also advised to use a monster with Shield, Retaliate or Thorns in the first position. 💪

Using Reach, Sneak, Opportunity will help a lot in this ruleset, because it will allows the monsters to attack from the back instead of just sitting there.

The Demoralize ability will play a huge role in this battle, because it will reduce the Melee attack by one for all the monsters in the opposing team. 😁

My lineup

image.png
The Byzantine Kitty is another Untamed Summoner and such she is quite powerful. Her main abilities are to increase the speed of all of her friendly monsters by two, which will make her monsters to attack first and the dodge more incoming attacks. She also gives the True Strike ability to his monsters, which will allows her monsters to hit their target at a 100% chance, but her most important ability is that she is able to Heal the first monster in her team at the beginning of every round. 😁
The Djinn Chwala will be my main tank, because I didn't bring Mylor for this battle, so I had to pick a tank with the Thorns ability in order to reflect two damage back to his attackers whenever they attack him. He has a lot of health and good amount of armor to protect himself as long as my opponenet is not going to jump over him! 😜

image.png
The Carnage Titan is an excellent damage dealer from the Dragon Splinter, because he has the Double Strike and Reach ability, so he will be able to attack from the second position and hit his target twice in every round. 😊
I had to use the Disintegrator for this battle even though he can not make any attack from my backline, because he has the Demoralize ability, which will reduce the Melee attack of the enemy monsters by one. That is why I hide him at the center of my team to keep him alive as long as possible. 😅

The Kulu Mastermind's most important ability is the Weapons Training, but it was useless in this battle. I solely used him, because he has the Opportunity ability, which will allows him to attack from my backline and hit the lowest health monster. 💪
The Kraken is not going to attack from his position, but his high health and his Taunt ability will ensure that the rest of my team will be safe as long as he is alive. 🤗

Agor Longtail is a very expensive monster with his 15 mana cost, but luckily I do not need to worry about that. Thanks to his mana cost he is pretty strong and even though he can not use his Melee attack from his position he also has Magic attack as well, which was also decreased by my opponent. He is able to Fly, which will gives him some extra chance to dodge the enemy attacks and also has the Taunt ability to soak up all the insoming attacks from the enemy team. 😎

My opponent brought Thaddius Brood, who is a Death Splinter with the most monsters with abilities that decreases my stats. Even his Summoner will decrease the Magic attack and health of my monsters by one. 😵

My team received two Melee attack decrease from their monsters, so my damage output was significantly low compare to my opponent and it will be interesting to see what is going to happen.

As expected my opponent monsters started to attack my Kraken and they damaged him a bit, but luckily he was way quicker than his enemies and managed to evade a serious attack from their Sand Worm who still had four attack damage. 🤞

In the second round my Kraken took another hit, but he evaded another attack as well and in the mean time their Arkemis the Bear got down to one health.

The third round was not so good for me, because my Kraken lost a lot of health and my monsters with only one damage were not able to crack open the Harklaw's Shield. Only my Agor and the Thorns* damage was able to damage him one at a time. 😜

In the fourth round I have lost my Kraken, but my Kulu took a nice revenge for him and killed their Sand Worm.

The following rounds were uneventful thanks to the low damages, but in the eight round sadly I lost my Agor who couldn't do much against their Sha'vi.

It was hard, but in the tenth round my team finally killed their strong Harklaw and my team also got back one Melee attack as well. 💪

In the next round their Sha-vi finally died and soon after their Disintegrator as well. Only their Cursed Windeku left in their team, but without any Heal he couldn't stand a chance against my monsters. 😇

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy was to try to bring big and badass monsters with the Taunt ability in order to sustain quite a lot of damage until my monsters will start killing their monsters. I could easily lose this battle, because their was a lot of decrease on my Melee attacks and the Shield ability on their Harklaw was almost unpenetratable for my monsters, but luckily as soon as he died my team easily killed the rest of their monsters! 😁
