RE: Rental Philosophy in Splinterlands and How It Affects Game Economy

in Splinterlands3 years ago

I'm curious what your stance is on the hefty rewards penalty for using Starter Cards.

When this change came, it was like a bummer to me, what was even happening with me I had only won 1 to 2 chests on weekly basis, because rich players were spending hefty money on rentals, this affected people who did not like to rent or did not have much return from the rewards to spend again on rents.

Obviously, it is not in favor of new players, which I had a very lengthy discussion with my friends, you may look into my comments section. But, Devs say they did it to stop the bots who were accumulating rewards with free cards in previous system, which I don't think is the case, since bot players are again renting high-end cards and accumulating chest way more than they did in previous system, so the abuse still prevails.

I of opinion that completely removing the starter cards value from the game is indeed not a good decision, but it could have been capped in a way that new players still could get benefit from them by making them only for Bronze I league to receive RShares.

I know many new players are confused and moving to other play2earn games. Devs must act urgently to develop a process that helps new players and remove this confusion.

As you last para says, it is a fact indeed. Wish you a nice weekend my friend.

Thanks for your visit and intelligent debate.
