CHALLENGE RULES
RULESET: Taking Sides
No neutral units may be used.
Ruleset and line-up:
Taking Sides - No neutral units may be used.
Explosive Weaponry - All Monsters have the Blast ability.
Reverse Speed - Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.
Mana Cap of 51.
Available Splinters - Fire, Water, Earth, Death and Dragon
My Team:
Summoner: Immortalis (-1 to Health, Void and Shatter ability for all Monsters)
1. Mycelic Infantry - Tank, Melee Damage Dealer with the Shield, Giant Killer and Enrage abilities
2. Queen Mycelia - Magic Damage Dealer with the Protect, Amplify and Triage abilities
3. Goblin Psychic - Magic Damage Dealer with the Tank Heal, Affliction and Silence abilities
4. Goblin Tower - Ranged Damage Dealer with the Blast ability
5. Uloth Dhampir - Ranged Damage Dealer with the Stun ability
6. Mycelic Slipspawn - Magic Damage Dealer with the Taunt and Forcefield abilities
Strategy:
Split up the incoming blast damage by placing a taunt tank in the back and a normal one in the front. Also gain the speed advantage by using very slow Monsters.
Position 1 - Mycelic Infantry:
One of the best maybe the best Chaos Legion tanks in the Reverse Speed ruleset. In combination with the summoner Immortalis it takes reduced damage of every type.
Position 2 - Queen Mycelia:
Great low mana buff and debuff card. The Triage ability is especially useful with a taunt tank in the back.
Position 3 - Goblin Psychic:
Great tank healer, very slow but therefore especially useful in Reverse Speed. The chance to afflict the opponent preventing heals and lowering all magic damage for the opponent team make this a very interesting card.
Position 4 - Goblin Tower:
Another great Reverse Speed card in the Earth Splinter. Massive damage (5+3 blast)
Position 5 - Uloth Dhampir:
Placed it in this position because of the high HP. Mycelic Slipspawn will take most of the damage and thus the blast will end up on him. All the other cards in the lineup would die a lot faster than this one
Position 6 - Mycelic Slipspawn:
Good high HP tank and the Forcefield can be a matchwinner especially in the higher leagues.
Round 1:
My hopes of winning this match were crushed or at least lowered quite a bit after seeing the levelled Ancient Redwood with blast protection on my opponents team. Killing a Immortalis Buffed Mycelic Infantry is no easy feat.
Round 2:
So far the match went as expected, I had a hard time with Mycelic Infantry and my Monsters in the back are close to death. The little speed advantage I gained because of the opponents Infantry enraging helped me to finally take it out and force Ancient Redwood to the front.
Round 3:
The turnaround round. Totally forgot about the powerful giant killer ability - my Mycelic Infantry took out Ancient Redwood with just one blow, right after Queen Mycelia gets taken out by my Goblin tower changing the 3vs5 to a 3vs3 again.
Round 4:
My goblin tower starts the round and Djinn Biljka is no more. Giant killer strikes again and Mycelic Infantry deals 16! damage with 1 hit. 8 direct on Goblin Psychic und 8 giant killer blast damage on Runemancer.
Final Round:
The heavily damaged Runemancer Florre can only watch while my Goblin Tower deals the last fatal blow.
Result:
The result was quite the surprise after the first two rounds. I was ready to skip the fight before my Mycelic Infantry took down the Ancient Redwood with one giant killer hit. Glad I kept watching and saw a nice turnaround victory.
