The grund! That sounds like a pretty catchy name.
As usual I had to go rent the card and prepare for battle. I was feeling very optimistic about this particular card.
THE GRUND
The Grund has spent his entire life in the lowlands of Praetoria and has grown to love the land and its people. It was first introduced to the lore of battle as a hatchling, he has studied it ever since with enthusiasm. When he became a juvenile his hands found steel, an old rusting sword abandoned and forgotten in the swamp by some intrepid explorer. Before long it became an extension of himself as he had applied all he had learnt, quickly mastering blade work. From then onwards, he became obsessed with the art of armed combat and he practised with any weapons he could get his hands on.
When he first met Bera Dallin in New Everitt he couldn’t help but marvel at her martial prowess. After having spent some time with her he became proficient in the use of the warhammer. His great strength meant that he could hold one in a single hand and so it wasn’t long before he acquired another and began to dual wield them in combat.
Grund is well loved amongst the people of Praetoria and he is a staunch defender of them, his strong ideals of honour and justice infused within in from a young age. When he heard of the Chaos Legion invasion, Grund took up his hammers in anger and sought them out immediately.
STATISTICS OF THIS CARD
image is a screenshot
- A x3 melee attack in levels one and two which increases to x4 in levels three through six
- The grund maintains a x3 speed through all six levels
- This card has no armors!
- It possesses ten health points in level one which increases to eleven in levels two to four. It further increases to twelve in level five. Finally in level six it’s thirteen
- The double strike ability is a great addition to the card. In level four, the trample ability is added and finally in level six, the third ability- cripple, is added.
I knew I had a good feeling about this card.
The stats of this card are really nice. I can’t wait to battle with it.
MY STRATEGY/ LINEUP
Mana Cap Given= 14
Battle Rules = Standard
The mana cap was quite small. I knew I had to strategize properly and make good use of what I have.
My Splint | Enemy’s Splint |
---|---|
Earth | Dragon |
SUMMONER
image is a screenshot
Name | Wizard of Eastwood |
---|---|
Mana cost | Three |
Splint | Earth |
Rarity | Rare |
Edition | Untamed |
Buff | -2 Armor |
I had to pick the less costly Summoner. But yea, this card has a good ‘buff’ that could help destabilize my enemy.
MONSTER 1
image is a screenshot
Name | Grund |
---|---|
Mana cost | Ten |
Splint | Earth |
Rarity | Epic |
Edition | Chaos Legion |
Attack | x3 Melee Attack |
Speed | x3 |

Ability | Double strike |
I had to make the grund my first monster. It seemed like it was strong enough.
MONSTER 2

Name | Mycelic Morphoid |
---|---|
Mana cost | One |
Splint | Earth |
Rarity | Common |
Edition | Chaos Legion |
Attack | x1 melee attack |

With just one mana cap left the ‘Mycelic Morphoid’ was my go-to card.

Enemy’s Lineup
Splint | Dragon |
---|---|
Summoner | Drake of Arnak |
First Monster | Gargoya Scrapper |
Second Monster | Pelacor Conjurer |
Third Monster | Venari Crystalsmith |
Fourth Monster | Naga Assassin |
Wow this looked like a pretty good team. But mine was better! (i hope)
Round One
image is a screenshot
- Both summoners used their ‘buff’on different cards
Drake of Arnak adds an armor to all its cards and Wizard of Eastwood goes to remove it.
I’m starting to like this battle
- Nasa Assassin opens the show by striking Grund and removes one health point
- The Grund is quite angry now, it hits the Gargoya Scrapper and removes three health points which kills the card
- Grund hits Pelacor Conjurer but misses its shot
- Venari Crystalsmith strikes Grund and removes a health point
Round Two
image is a screenshot
- Naga Assassin starts this level again by striking Grund and removing another health point!
Is the grund going to take this?
- Grund hits Pelacor Conjurer and removes three health points
That’s still not enough to kill it - Grund strikes Pelacor Conjurer again and kills it off immediately
I’m pretty sure Grund should be satisfied my now
Round Three
image is a screenshot
- Naga Assassin strikes Grund and removes a health point
Seems like Naga Assassin has a knack for starting each round by tackling Grund
- Grund hits Venari Crystalsmith and removes three health points
- Grund hits Venari Crystalsmith smith again and finally kills off the card
Round Four
image is a screenshot
Last but not the least, Naga Assassin was the last man standing or woman rather
Can’t wait to finish her off!
- Grund delivers a massive hit and removes three health from Naga Assassin which immediately kills the card!!
VICTORY IS MINE!!

DID YOUR STRATEGY WORK?
Of course it did! I made the best decision by putting the Grund as my first monster. My second monster didn’t even lift a finger.
WHAT WILL YOU TRY DIFFERENTLY NEXT TIME?
If I have more mana cap I would definitely but another card with the same double strike ability just to see how it plays out.
DO YOU LIKE GRUND?
Yes I do.
WHY?
Playing this battle with this cards has to be one of the smoothest wins ever.It was worth the rent and mana cap. I loved the double strike ability the most along with the fact it had lots of health points it used to withstand attack from the enemy.
Thank you all for reading! See you next week!
