Hello Splinter players,
Well, I guess by now you have already heard the big news. Yes, Splinterlands has started working on their next upcoming card set called Conclave Arcana, which is coming soon in Splinterlands and will be launched soon this year. There are already proposals regarding Conclave Arcana that got passed long ago and now the team is working tirelessly in the background to build the next big set of cards for this game. So if you are a splinterlands player and love to play this game, the time has come for you to prepare for this revolution which will definitely disrupt the whole game once launched. As announced in the official proposal posts, this new card set will be entirely new types of packs, exciting updates and game-changing mechanics. So in this post, let’s talk about Conclave Arcana and if you are interested, then let’s take a dive and break it all down!
What is Conclave Arcana?
No doubt Splinterlands is constantly evolving the game and in my previous splinterlands posts, I have talked about some of the recent important updates like Seasonal Rental, Survival Mode, Rental Sets, etc and yet, another omega level update is here in the form of Conclave Arcana, which is obviously next big thing in Splinterlands and the current talk of the town. Before we take the leap and find out more about this upcoming card edition, I shared the Official Logo of Conclave Arcana above and honestly, I am impressed with the artwork here.
The first Proposal involving the Conclave Arcana went live on Splinterlands a long ago, on 23rd October last year and the aim behind this proposal was to hire the Splinterlands team to Develop the Next Major Card set - The Conclave Arcana. This was the 188th DAO proposal and gladly, the proposal passed with a whopping 91% vote (approx 235.5 Million staked SPS vote) supporting the proposal and thus, the SPS DAO approved hiring the Splinterlands team to develop this set with a massive 600 million DEC tokens being paid upfront as a fee. This amount includes the development, release and operation costs - all of which will be covered, and the company will also receive 50% of the revenue from all packs sold via the official sale page.
The release set for Conclave Arcana is expected to be released by the end of April this year and as we have seen with the previous card set sales, the sale begins with a presale phase first followed by a general sale. As stated in the proposal post, the Conclave Arcana card set will contain a similar number of cards as the Rebellion set, but the exact details are yet to be finalized.
New Pack Types
Till now, with every previous edition card set se, we saw only one type of pack but with this upcoming Conclave Arcana card set, it introduces not just one but four different pack types. Each pack will offer something unique and will also come with different prices, allowing players and investors to strategize their purchase based on their needs and play style, with more freedom on which type of cards they want to get from their packs. Let us now look at each of them and find out more about them below.
Standard Booster
Packs The standard booster pack will be similar to what we used to see with all previous packs in Splinterlands. It will cost 4,000 DEC or Credits per pack (excluding any discount) and will contain 5 randomly selected cards with a guarantee of having at least 1 rare card in each pack. A total of 5M Booster packs will be listed for sale in Conclave Arcana, with 10% of them being reserved for pre-sale. Chances of getting higher rarity cards (epic, legendary and gold foil) will remain the same as of the previously launched packs. However, as stated in the proposal, there will be no bonuses for bulk purchases.
Legendary Packs
Now, apart from the basic Booster pack, there will be 3 more different types of packs in Conclave Arcana and the first one will be Legendary packs. These shiny packs will cost 24,000 DEC or Credits per pack. Just like the standard booster pack, this pack will also contain 5 cards, but unlike the standard pack version, this pack will come with at least one guaranteed Legendary card in each pack. A total of 500K Legendary packs will be listed for sale in Conclave Arcana, with 10% of them being reserved for pre-sale. Not only that, but you can also use legendary potions while opening these packs to double the chance of getting Legendary cards from the rest 4 cards. You may also use Alchemy potions while opening Legendary packs to double Gold Foil card chances for all 5 cards. Just imagine if you get your hands on one or two Gold Foil Legendary cards!
Alchemist Packs
After the legendary pack, the second new type of pack that will get launched with Conclave Arcana will be alchemy packs and as the name suggests, you will get at least one guaranteed Gold Foil card in each alchemy pack. Each of these packs will cost you 12,000 DEC or Credits and will contain 5 cards. A total of 1M Alchemist packs will be listed for sale in Conclave Arcana, with 10% of them being reserved for pre-sale. Just like Legendary packs, Alchemy potions can be used while opening packs to double the chance of getting additional Gold Foils on the rest 4 cards and you can also use legendary potions to increase the chance of Legendary rarity cards. As usual, all these cards that we get from Standard, Legendary and Alchemist Packs will be transferrable NFTs and tradable on the Splinterlands in-game market.
Starter Packs
The next and final Conclave Arcana pack is called the Starter pack and I believe this pack will be most favorite for new and low league players. The cost of each Starter pack will be 1,000 DEC or Credits and will contain 5 cards in each pack, but unlike the other packs that I talked about above, only Common and Rare types of cards will be available in starter packs. Only 5 cards will be there in a starter pack and among them, at least one card is guaranteed to be Rare. However, No Gold Foils, Epics or Legendary cards can be obtained from Starter packs and you can’t use legendary or alchemy potions on them as well. Now another advantage of starter packs is that if a new user purchases a spellbook and starts his journey in Splinterlands, he will get 5 of these starter packs as a gift. The splinterlands team will pay the fee of these 5 starter packs and also some credits for a kickstart boost for the buyer. However, unopened starter packs may be non-transferable but when you open them, the cards that you get will be normal cards and can be easily transferred, sold, bought and combined.
As shown above, these are all the 4 different packs that will get launched with Conclave Arcana and during the pre-sale period, all these different packs except the starter pack will be available to buy in the official in-game shop. With Conclave Arcana, the whole Hive is excited to eagerly anticipate the launch of this upcoming edition card set and I am sure that soon after they launch, the gameplay is about to change completely in Splinterlands. I heard about Conclave Arcana version of cards that we are going to have soon. I didn't know about the details but you explained well and I expect that it will make gaming so much fun.
If the selling price of 1 Legendary Conclave Arcana card is more than $20, then buying 1 legendary pack is not a bad idea
