What’s up my fellow Splinterlands Players!
I hope all of you are enjoying the day with your family and friends, playing this game in your daily free time, and earning crypto while growing your progress. The last ranked season just ended yesterday and I hope all of you have claimed your season Glint rewards by now and have already started playing for the season. As usual, I was playing in the diamond league in the last season and gladly, somehow I managed to reach the Champion League during the last days of the season and won as expected, I won a bit more SPS while playing there. But now after the season reset, my trophy rating has decreased again and right now, I am playing at the Diamond II tier with a current trophy count of 3,220. Now looking at the season timer, we have still around 14 days left in hand before this ongoing season ends, so let us utilize this time effectively and win as many SPS and Glint rewards as possible.
Now moving on, let me come toward the main topic of this post as today, I will be talking about an awesome Reward card that mainly acts as an attacker but also comes with some other advantages as well. As you have already seen him in the thumbnail above, today I will be discussing RIVERBOAT CAPTAIN, so without further ado, let us start.
RIVERBOAT CAPTAIN
RIVERBOAT CAPTAIN is a reward type card that was launched under the Chaos Legion edition and this card belongs to the Water element. This card costs 6 mana to be used in battles and its attack type is magic. It is a soul-bound card which means it can't be transferred, bought, rented or sold and will be stuck in the owner's account and you can only burn this card for Glint tokens. It is a rare type of card that needs a total of 115 BCX of cards to be upgraded to the max level. Let us now look further into this card’s league-wise stats and abilities below.
BRONZE
At level 2, this monster card possesses 2 magic attack at 2 speed with 4 health and also gets the Blast ability since its initial level. With the help of blast ability, whenever it attacks an enemy card, it will do reduced damage to its adjacent cards as well, if they do not possess Reflection Shield ability.
SILVER
At level 4, this card’s stats get increased further and it gets 2 magic attack at 2 speed with an increased 5 health and it also gets a new ability called Affliction. Now this ability has an apply rate of 50% on every successful attack and if applied, it will make the enemy monster unable to heal or get healed.
GOLD
When you upgrade this card to level 6, this monster gets an increased 3 magic attack at 2 speed with 5 health but it does not get any new ability at Gold League. However, this card with a 3 magic attack and bLast + Affliction is definitely powerful in the Gold league and will help you Kill down your enemies faster.
DIAMOND / CHAMPION
When this mobster finally gets upgraded to its max level of 8, it receives 3 magic attack at 2 speed with 6 health and also gets a new ability called - Fury with which, it can now do 2x damage to the enemy monsters with Taunt ability. ###
Battle Link
BATTLE STAT
This time I got a large 42 mana limit match where every element but Fire was allowed in this battle. There were also 2 rulesets applied in this battle - Only Magic and Even Stevens and after thinking about what type of attack style I should choose, I went ahead and chose Sthispa summoner with a mix of Water and Dragon cards. I chose the Djinn Oshannus at my front followed by Anasth Soothsayer, Riverboat Captain, Chaos Dragon and Doctor Blight at my end position. The strategy here is to evade enemy magic attacks with the Djinn while trying to attack the opponent’s backline magic monsters with my Chaos Dragon. When both the lineups finally got revealed, I saw that my opponent had Used Quix summoner with a combo of water and dragon cards and at his front, he chose the same Djinn followed by Chaos Dragon, Magi of Chaos, Doctor Blight and Soothsayer at the end position. Now let’s see how this battle goes.
BATTLE PERFORMANCE
When the first round started, My Chaos Dragon did a marvelous job by killing down the enemy soothsayer and he also wounded the enemy Blight almost to death. Both of the Djinns got afflicted, but my soothsayer is still alive so he cleansed out the affliction from my Djinn and then healed it at level 2. In this round, the enemy Chaos dragon missed its attack on my soothsayer but my Chaos didn't and attacked the Magi and wounded both Magi and Chaos and killed down the Doctor only with its one mighty blow.
By the third round, both of our Djinns were still alive but wounded and at this round, the enemy Chaos Dragon attacked my Captain and wounded it down to 2 health while also damaging the 2 adjacent monsters Soothsayer and Chaos Dragon. But then my Soothsayer healed up my Djinn back to 8 health followed by the attack of my Chaos dragon who almost killed down the enemy Chaos dragon and left it with 1 health only and the enemy Djinn with 2 health but it successfully killed down the enemy Magi. Next, both my Doctor and Captain attacked back to back and finally killed down the last 2 enemy monsters Chaos Dragon and Djinn and hence, I won another amazing match and earned myself some SPS and Glint points as rewards.
