Splinterlands | Why DOCTOR BLIGHT is still unbeatable

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands players!

I hope all of you are enjoying an awesome day with your family and friends. If you are a splinterlands player like me, then I hope you are having a great time playing this game and building your reward card collection and SPS stake. Now, for those who are playing this ongoing ranked season seriously, I guess you guys are pretty right now, cause if we look at the season clock, only around 2 days and 20 hours left for this current season to meet its end. So we don't have much time left in hand to perform this season and moreover, the season-end bloodbath is about to start too as all the OG players will be active during this time and winning would be more difficult. So, whatever goals you have set for yourself this season, be it to reach a certain league tier or to secure a place in the champ Leaderboard, I would advise you to reach there as soon as possible. Now looking at myself, I also set the same goal this time as well to reach the Champion League and luckily somehow, I have managed to enter there already. Right now, I am sitting at the Champ III league tier with a current trophy count of 3,720 and only 2 more losses would throw me back into Diamond league. So I will be playing cautiously and let’s see where I stay at the season end.

Moving forward, let me now come to the main topic of this post as today, I will be showcasing a popular OG card that most of you have already used in battles extensively. As you have already seen in the thumbnail above, today I will be talking about Doctor Blight. So, if you are interested, let’s take a jump right in without any further ado.

DOCTOR BLIGHT

Doctor Blight is a monster type card that was released in the game with the introduction of Chaos Legion edition cards and this special mobster is a rare Promo edition card that was only airdropped to Chaos Legion pack pre-sale buyers. Doctor Blight belongs to the neutral element, so you get the choose this card while choosing any element if allowed by the match ruleset. Its attack type is magic and it costs only 4 mana to be used in battles, so you can easily fit this card in your lineup when playing small to medium mana limit matches and also in the Little League ruleset. By rarity, it is a Legendary type card, so you will need a total of 11 BCXs of cards in order to upgrade this card to its maximum level. Now apart from a decent attack power at low speed with average health, this monster also comes with a power pack of 5 abilities, which I am going to talk about later in this post. Let us now take a further look at its league wise stats and abilities below to find out more.

BRONZE

At level 1, this monster card possesses 1 magic attack power at 1 speed with 4 health and it also carries 2 abilities since its initial level, which are Affliction and Camouflage. With the camouflage ability, this monster will not receive any direct hits, until it is in the first position and on the other hand, the affliction ability has a 50% apply rate upon every successful attack and if applied, afflicted units can't be healed.

SILVER

As you upgrade this monster to its next level 2, it receives the same stats as of its previous level - 1 magic attack power at 1 speed with 4 health. However, it does receive a new ability called poison at this level which has a 50% apply rate upon every successful attack and if applied, poisoned units will lose 2 health at the beginning of each round.

GOLD

When this monster reaches its next level 3, its stats get a bit increased to 2 magic attack power at 1 speed with 4 health. Not to mention that receives another new ability at this level called Scavenger with which, its health and max health will get increased by 1 each time a monster dies in that battle.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this monster to its max level of 4, then it receives 2 magic attack power at 1 speed with 4 health and gladly, it receives another new ability at its max level called Weaken. With this new ability, now it can decrease every enemy monster’s max health by 1.

BATTLE STAT

This time, I received a large 44 mana limit match where there were only 2 elements allowed to choose in this battle - Water and Death. There was also only 1 ruleset applied in this match called Even Stevens, where only even mana costs monsters can be selected in this match. Anyway, after looking at all these rules and limits, I started thinking about a suitable lineup for this particular match and after thinking a little, I decided to use a mix of melee and magic monsters against my opponent and then I started to build my lineup accordingly.

For this match, first of all, I chose the Water summoner Kelya Frendul and at the front defensive position of my lineup, I chose the Diemonshark followed by Pallus, Djinn Oshannus, Deeplurker, Doctor Blight and the Supply Runner at the end position of my lineup. Anyway, when both the lineups were revealed, I found out that my opponent had used the same Kelya Frendul summoner and at his front position, he chose Arkemis the Bear followed by Djinn Oshannus, Deeplurker, Merdhampir, Supply Runner and the Kulu Swimhunter at the end position.

As the battle began, all the enemy cards started attacking my Diemonshark and the enemy Deeplurker killed it down in the first round. Then, my Djinn Oshannus killed down the Arkemis in round 2, followed by the enemy Supply Runner who killed my Pallus in round 2. Next, my Deeplurker took revenge by taking down the enemy Deeplurker and dis another attack at round 3 and killed the enemy Oshannus. Then, the enemy Deeplurker also tried to take my Oshannus down but missed its target by the end of round 3, followed by my Oshannus who killed the Deeplurker down at the beginning of round 4. Next, the Kulu Swimhunter took down my wounded Oshannus easily but after I killed the enemy monster Merdhampir at the front, the only monster left on the opponent side was the poor Kulu, but I didn't take much time and took it down too and won another awesome match.

It's OP card, Deadly Strong and well hidden.

I really hate this card, when my opponent plays it. Maybe it's because I don't own the card. 😂

Dr. Blight is one of my favorite cards.
