New week, new activity, new game. This week presents us with the opportunity to share a battle that involves one of the fire element splinters "ANTOID PLATOON". Participation in the weekly share your battle challenge can be done by clicking this link for guidelines.
Antoid Platoon is not just a card but one of the formidable forces to reckon with amongst the fire element splinters.
By stat, Antoid Platoon has a total of 10 levels with shield ability in the early levels and shield plus scavenger ability in the later levels. Battles with Antoid are advantageous when facing opponents with melee and ranged attack splinters as their damage is reduced by the shield ability of Antoid Platoon.
The Antoid used in this week's battle is the level one category and it has the following stats.
Card Name | Antoid Platoon |
---|---|

Team Selection & Arrangement
Card Position | Stats and Position Justification |
---|---|
Summoner: TARSA | TARSA belongs to the all-playable card in the splinterlands card deck. This means that without having to rent or buy a summoner, TARSA is available to be used at any time. TARSA enhances melee damage of all its monsters by additional 1 damage and increases the health of all summoned cards by 1. With the mana cap being 17, and the game rule permitting only even mana cards, TARSA was seen as the best choice for me since I had only the two basic summoners, TARSA and Pyre. |
Position 1: ANTOID PLATOON | ANTOID PLATOON has been discussed at the beginning of this write-up. The reason for using this card in the front role was because of its defense ability. The game rule and the mana cap made Antoid the best choice because a strong defense is required to achieve victory in such a low mana cap game. |
Position 2: Magma Troll | Magma Troll, another melee attack splinter followed suit immediately after Antoid. Magma Troll with the reach ability made it possible to focus damage on the opponent's front card. It was a low mana cap battle and choosing a strategy may be tricky, However, the strategy here was to focus all damage on the opponent's front card which is while Magma Troll was used to achieving a better result. Magma Troll in level one has 4 mana cost, 1 melee damage, 2 speed, and 3 health. Magma Troll damage was increased to 2 by the summoner in this battle |
Position 3: Spark Pixies | Spark Pixies, high speed flying monster was next in line. Spark Pixies, was used to effect an early damage, coupled with the fact that it has the flying ability, which gives it a higher chance of evading attacks from melee and ranged splinters without the flying ability. Also used in level 1, Spark Pixies played a vital role with its 2 ranged damage, 5 speed and 1 health. |
Battle Commentary
The battle was won as team followed the strategy of teamwork. The game began with the summoner enhancing the damage of melee attackers by a plus one damage and increasing the speed of all summoned monsters.
Antoid held tightly the defense while Magma ans Pixies offered great support from behind. Although, the battle overwhelmed Antoid, the damage was already too heavy for the opponent to recover from.
Antoid had a good battle, got eliminated at third round, while Magma and Pixies finished up the battle at round six.
My Strategy & Its Effectiveness
Statistically, my strategy was approximately 67% effective. It was a battle involving only three cards and two out of the three finished. Focusing all damage on the front card seemed to have been the best strategy. Looking at the opponent's cards, if i had involved a sneak card, there would have been high possibility of it missing against Ice Pixie.
Judging from the result of the game, all I can say is, great game. Victory, well deserved.
What I Think About Antoid Platoon
Just the same think I think about every card with the shield ability. They are strong and a very useful cards in terms of defense, coupled with the fact that Platoon has a moderate mana cost which increases its versatility.
The scavenger ability it developed in the later levels is also very much important. Since it's not a high health card, gaining health when a card goes down will definitely be a plus.
Antoid Platoon is one card I use often among the fire element cards and it has a proven win record
