Greetings to all! The other day I was exploring games on the Hive blockchain to find some new ones to try out. The most famous CHAIN game came to mind and I remembered that many years ago (I think about 4), I had had several Splinterlands accounts. I never got to play them that much, I remember that I had had a lot of bad luck with the season rewards, losing the will to keep playing it.
Upon logging in, I was surprised by the new interface of the video game; it has improved quite a bit compared to the previous one and looks great. When I played in the past, I remember DEC being awarded as a reward for battles won and there was no energy system as such. Instead, the rewards decreased as you played more.

Se me vino a la mente el juego más famoso de la CHAIN y recorde que hace muchos años (creo que unos 4), había tenido varias cuentas en Splinterlands. Nunca las llegué a jugar tanto, recuerdo que habia tenido mucha mala suerte con las recompensas de la temporada, perdiendo las ganas de seguir jugandolo.
Al ingresar, me sorprendió la nueva interfaz del videojuego; ha mejorado bastante en comparación con la anterior y luce muy bien. Cuando jugaba en el pasado, recuerdo que se otorgaban DEC como recompensa por las batallas ganadas y que no existía un sistema de energía como tal. En su lugar, las recompensas disminuían a medida que se jugaba más.
The first thing I did was look at my card inventory, I wasn't expecting much. On this account, I only had a few cards of no value/usefulness whatsoever, so I couldn't do much from the start.
Lo primero que hice fue ver mi inventario de cartas, no me esperaba la gran cosa. En esta cuenta, únicamente tenia pocas cartas sin valor/utilidad alguna, asi que no podia hacer mucho desde el principio.
After my humble inventory check, I looked at my game profile, realizing that I was always losing when I played the game a few years ago. Luckily this time I have a positive winrate in the Modern Ranks.
Despues de mi ver mi humilde inventario, observe mi perfil del juego, dandome cuenta que siempre vivia perdiendo cuando lo jugaba hace unos años. Por suerte esta vez tengo un winrate positivo en las Modern Ranks.
I started playing with the Starter Deck, so I didn't have a large selection of cards to begin with. Starting with no rank, the first few games were fairly easy to win, it was just a matter of spending the right mana and making a logical combination.
After playing several games, I realized that I wasn't generating DEC. After victory you get some season points that we can spend in the seasonal store and redeem for packs/chests or other things. The sign that had popped up before I searched was warning me that I was not generating rewards by playing, as I had a deck with very few cards.
So far, I wasn't that hooked on the game and being inexperienced in the game, I didn't know which particular cards to rent to form a solid strategy. Luckily, there is now an option to directly rent a complete set for several days. So I bought DEC at Hive-Engine and deposited them, in order to rent a Chaos Legion set for ten days.
Empecé jugando con el Starter Deck, así que no tenia una gran selección de cartas para empezar. Al comenzar sin rango, las primeras partidas fueron bastante sencillas de ganar, sólo bastaba con gastar el mana adecuado y hacer una combinación lógica.
Luego de jugar varias partidas, me di cuenta que no estaba generando DEC. Tras la victoria se obtienen GLINTS que podemos gastar en la tienda de temporada y canjearla por packs/cofres u otras cosas. El cartel que me había salido antes de buscar, me estaba avisando que no estaba generando recompensas, ya que tenia un mazo con muy pocas cartas.
Hasta el momento, no estaba tan enganchado con el juego y al ser inexperimentado, no sabia que cartas en concreto rentar para formar una estrategia solida. Por suerte, ahora hay una opción para rentar un set completo por varios dias. Asi que compré DEC en Hive-Engine y los deposite, para poder alquilar por diez dias un set de Chaos Legion.
Now I had a more diverse deck and I could form my own strategies to win, besides generating Glint to be able to spend it in the store of the season. In principle, I generally used Death cards in my games, using Harklaw and Lira The Dark cards quite often in my strategy. I also had a summoner that subtracted important stats from the opponent, so I was more inclined to always play with the same element.
Ahora contaba con un mazo más diverso y podia formar mis propias estrategias para ganar, además de estar generando Glint para poder gastarlo en la tienda. En principio, en mis partidas utlizaba cartas de Death, empleando bastante seguido en mi juego las cartas Harklaw y Lira The Dark. También contaba con un invocador que le restaba estadisticas importantes al contrincante, por eso me incline más por jugar siempre con el mismo elemento.
I got quite attached to Lira The Dark, so I was thinking of buying it.
Me encariñe bastante con Lira The Dark, asi que estaba pensando comprarla.
At first, this strategy worked very well. I managed to get out of Unranked quickly and reached Bronze II, where I was able to open a chest that granted me the Chaos Evoker card.
Al principio, esta estrategia funcionó muy bien. Logré salir de Unranked rápidamente y alcancé Bronce II, donde pude abrir un cofre que me otorgó la carta Chaos Evoker.
However, when I went up to Bronze II I was having a hard time winning battles, even losing several in a row. So I started to play strategies with different deck elements, being able to generate enough GLINT points to be able to exchange them for two rare cards.
Sin embargo, cuando subi a Bronce II me costaba ganar las batallas, perdiendo incluso hasta varias seguidas. Asi que empecé a jugar estrategias con diferentes elementos de mazo, pudiendo generar bastantes puntos GLINT para poder canjearlas por dos cartas raras.
I continued playing with the intention of reaching Bronze I, consuming all the energy I had. I got pretty close to my goal, although I think it will be necessary to see a detailed guide on the mechanics of the game, because I missed a lot of technical aspects of it. It would be good if you could recommend me a guide in the comments.
While playing my last few games today, I noticed that they updated the loading screen interface while searching for game. I loved how it turned out, giving the game a touch more quality.
Seguí jugando con la intención de llegar a Bronce I, consumiendo toda la energia que tenia. Me quede bastante cerca de cumplir con mi objetivo, aunque creo que va a ser necesario ver una guía detallada sobre las mecanicas del juego, porque fui perdiendo muchísimos aspectos técnicos del mismo. Me vendria bien que me recomienden alguna guia en los comentarios.
Al jugar mis últimas partidas hoy, noté que actualizaron la interfaz de la pantalla de carga mientras buscaba partida. Me encantó como quedo, dandole un toque más de calidad al juego.
I liked the new reward system in Splinterlands. I can now redeem cards with the points I get for victories, which has been quite important for me to keep playing the game. I remembered having bad experiences playing one season and wasn't even lucky enough to get a decent card.
Me gustó el nuevo sistema de recompensas de Splinterlands. Ahora puedo canjear cartas con los puntos que obtengo por las victorias, lo que ha sido bastante importante para que siga jugando al juego. Recordaba tener malas experiencias jugando una temporada y ni siquiera tuve la suerte de obtener una carta decente.
The first few times I played, the game hadn't really hooked me that much. This time, however, it completely grabbed me, to the point of spending all 50 of my accumulated energy in just a few hours. Once I start to understand the concepts better, I'll invest some HIVE to improve my deck and start strategizing more elaborately.

Las primeras veces que jugué, el juego no me había atrapado demasiado. Sin embargo, esta vez logró engancharme por completo. Al punto de gastar 50 puntos de energias en tan solo dos horas. Cuando empiece a entender mejor los conceptos, invertiré algunos HIVE para mejorar mi mazo y empezar a hacer estrategias más elaboradas.
