Hiya Splinterlanders :)
Wow, it is already the 20th Strategy Corner article. We have analyzed so many different rulesets already, and before we have talked about some specific cards. The first edition was about LEGIONNAIRE ALVAR almost half a year ago.
I still have hope that some of that knowledge could be useful for you. Recently during my Splinterlands.tv stream, we had some discussion about blogging. The overall conclusion was "future is uncertain" :).

Description:
All units lose the Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity abilities.
Scattershot still works in this ruleset.
Firstly, the description of the ruleset in the game is not perfect, sometimes you get just general information which not giving you all information you need. Best way to read the full description as above from the game documentation at least once. You can check all here.
Fog of War is not a very exciting ruleset, it changes some basic mechanics on the battlefield and you need to be careful with your monster choice. Overall I think the battle should be easier to predict, because what is cause that the visibility of your opponent's team is limited. Your backline units are much safer in those battles. Recently there was a big change, because before in the fog of war ruleset opportunity ability still worked. I think it was a good change, even though it take some time to get used to it. Now you need to care more about unit order and just put a strong resiliant monster in front.

For today's battle I have chosen something more interesting than the regular fog of war ruleset battle. We have a special tournament organized by Hawk21 in the silver league. In addition to Fog of war we have a melee mayhem ruleset, which changes there battle a lot.
With that ruleset combination of of better choice in my opinion is Possibilus the Wise. The water team has a nice collection of good melee monsters. The opponent on the other way choose the life team with Lux Vega, a very powerful summoner.
Round 2. we have lost our cannon fodder unit, unfortunately, it was killed by Jared Scared, the most dangerous unit among the opponent's team. We have a few misses, dodge plus some speed buff was enough for the first position monster to stay alive.
In round 3, we managed to finally kill Time Medler, but unfortunately, we got another costly miss with 6 speed enraged Diemonshark. Of course, opponent hasn't got any problem hitting our tank :(.
Round 4, we could have been in better shape, but the giant killer was s big hit for our Bear. We managed to kill another unit, but now it's a harder nut to crack - Chaos Knight with shield ability. We rely only on physical damage, so it won't be easy.
Round 5, the round started terribly, our Bear was killed by Jared, who get another bloodlust buff. Of course, we got some miss again, the battle doesn't look great :(
Round 6, Jared Scar seems unstoppable now, and we still have two more opponent's units to even get him.
Round 7, the final blow, Jared was a monster in this battle, I think in most battles when he can safely hit without being worried to get hit back. Let's try to analyze this battle.

I used a special add-on for Splinterlands site which shows me the winrate percentage for every fight:
As you can see we were pretty unlucky here. Of course, we cannot trust that site 100%, but usually, approximate winrate should be correct. Our team seems ok, but after I saw that number I try to check if you could improve something. On the same site, there is an option to fit your battle with a different setup or order. Here is what I come up with:
As you can see, the same setup, but in different order was enough to get almost 100% winrate. More cannon fodder should be enough to improve my setup here, and of course, hardy stonefish still could attack longer as the last position monster but with fog of war target limitation there was no chance to use sneak here. So overall it was a mistake on my side, which cost me a battle.

Today's ruleset for Battle Mage Secrets maybe it's not be the most battle-defining, but for sure you need to consider it. I had many battles, that I totally forgot that my sneak unit wouldn't be able to attack from the last position and it stuck there until the end of the battles.
Additionally, as you can see with the battle analysis section, even so, small changes could give you a huge advantage on the battlefield, so understanding those nuances, adapting your deck-building strategies, and making calculated predictions, can give you victory in the face of uncertainty.
I hope you like this kind of battle and strategy presentation. More strategy analysis, discussion, and prediction games you can find on my Wednesday Splinterlands.tv stream. You can check the schedule here
If you have any comments, please do not hesitate. Do you think I could improve anything just tell me :)

We continue our game from the previous week, today new battle, new card to win :).
I come to some idea, I hope you will like them and participate. Every week I will publish one battle, and your goal is to point out the first victim of the battle and who will be the winner. This game is exactly the same as my prediction game which I run on my Wednesday Splinterlands.tv stream. I know that not everyone can attend the stream, so I hope you will still have fun that way. More about the rules can be read here.
Among all participants who get the correct answer, I will randomly (probably on my Wednesday stream) choose one winner.
The prize of the blog prediction game for the lucky winner will be the epic card:

Here we got the battle:
Game instruction:
Try to point out which monster will die first on the battlefield and who wins the battle
- t - top player
- b - bottom player
- number - order counting from the first position
Examples:
t2b = monster on the second position of top player die first, the bottom player wins
b6t = monster on the sixth position of bottom player die first, the top player wins
t3t = monster on the third position of top player die first, the top player wins

Great post, congrats on your 20th article in the Strategy section. You've analyzed lots of rule sets and provided valuable info about specific cards in the past. Love that you're sharing your knowledge with the Splinterlands community.
Regarding the "Fog of War" rule set, it's cool to see how it changes the battlefield dynamics and the importance of carefully choosing monster cards. Thanks for pointing out that limited visibility of the opponent's team makes your backline units safer.
I was intrigued by the rule set combination you used in Hawk21's silver league tournament. Choosing "Possibilus the Wise" was a smart move, especially considering the strong melee monsters in the water team. It's also interesting how the opponent went with Lux Vega, a powerful summoner from the life team.
Throughout the battle you described, you faced some obstacles and bad luck, but I appreciate your detailed analysis of key moments and how you could have improved your strategy. Remember, even small adjustments can make a big difference in battles.
I agree with you that "Possibilus the Wise" is an underrated summoner and "Coastal Sentry" is a fantastic card, especially with the right protection. Can't help but get excited about the potential power of "Coastal Sentry" at higher levels with "Pierce". It would be awesome to see it in action!
Thanks again for sharing your experiences and strategies with the Splinterlands community. Keep up the great work and keep providing valuable content. You've got this!
