Heya Splinterlanders :)
Description:
All units gain the Divine Shield ability which reduces the damage of the first attack received to 0.
Divine Shield will be re-applied when a unit is Resurrected.
Blast damage will remove Divine Shield.
Firstly, the description of the ruleset in the game is not perfect, sometimes you got just general information which not giving you all information you need. Best way to read the full description as above from the game documentation at least once. You can check all here.
video when he presents one of them with Waka as a summoner, I think it is worth watching. Another thing you need to pay more attention to is the resurrection ability which re-applied Divine Shield ability. It could be more efficient to use as many monsters as you can to get better efficiency of the ruleset, but it still depends on the amount of mana available.Holy protection, maybe not be the most battle-defining ruleset, but I think one of the more interesting. There is some nice strategy to get an advantage in the battle, recently I watched @bulldog1205
For today's battle we have from one side quite new interesting strategy with Lily, martyr, and resurrection team and for second side quite standard Immortalis team with some tweaks for the specific ruleset.
As I mentioned above resurrection ability is a nice combo with Divine Protection, additionally, martyr cards are even more broken. From my side, I try to utilize as many double-attack units as I can. Another nice trick that I think could be mandatory is Monster with Dispel. Let's see how it goes.
Round 2, seems like nothing happened, but overall it was a very intensive round. We manage to kill a rat, which was resurrected. Fortunately, we could completely remove the buff with dispel. Fortunately so far with void ability from Immortalis, our taunt monster is in good shape.
Round 3, still battlefield looks almost the same :), another death of Marksrat, another displed buff.
Round 4, finally we got the first permanent victims, we lost our taunt monster, and we only managed to kill martyr card. Fortunately we "used" all the resurrection abilities out of our opponent's monster and managed to dispel all buff that he get from martyr.
Round 5 , I have to say Immortalis abilities are so powerful in the current meta (lower league), we manage to kill Agur quite fast and shatter worked even when we cannot get any damage because of Holy Protection.
Round 6, is quite a long fight, but finally, we are in a good way to end it. Our Quora is the main target now, and it's quite crucial to keep her alive.
Round 7, we made it, our quora attacked before Katie, because according to the rules epic monster attacks before rare. Now it seems just a question of time.
Round 8, finally final blow :) It was a very long and interesting battle, but we managed to defeat the opponent. Let's jump to the analysis section.
You have to admit that it was a crazy fight. At first glance, it seems that the opponent team is so powerful. But now you can see how important is Dispel ability, that small Venari Spellsmith stopped completely the whole opponent's strategy. Today we try to concentrate on monsters, which is helpful in Holy Protection ruleset, but for sure we will discuss deeper the importance of support cards which dispel ability. Our strategy was to use as many monsters with more than 1 attack, it helps a lot to drop the Divine Protection, additionally, it's a great combo with Immortalis, when even without doing any damage we could in one hit crush protection and armor :).
For sure I cannot say that Holy protection is a boring ruleset. There are some nice strategies that could you give many advantages versus an unprepared opponent. You have to remember about some tricks, which could easily ruin your strategy as Venari Spellsmith for example :).
But back to the question at the beginning of the article, I hope you are still not bored with that kind of presentation. I usually try to focus on one strategy, give you some tips and point out what to pay attention to. There are of course many other strategy articles when you get a deeper comprehensive ruleset analysis. It's already the 25th article of that cycle, and I'm wondering if maybe it's time for some changes. What do you think ? Waiting for your feedback in the comment section.
I hope you like this kind of battle and strategy presentation. More strategy analysis, discussion, and prediction games you can find on my Wednesday Splinterlands.tv stream. You can check the schedule here
If you have any comments, please do not hesitate. Do you think I could improve anything just tell me :)

We continue our game from the previous week, today new battle, new card to win :).
I come to some idea, I hope you will like them and participate. Every week I will publish one battle, and your goal is to point out the first victim of the battle and who will be the winner. This game is exactly the same as my prediction game which I run on my Wednesday Splinterlands.tv stream. I know that not everyone can attend the stream, so I hope you will still have fun that way. More about the rules can be read here.
Among all participants who get the correct answer, I will randomly (probably on my Wednesday stream) choose one winner.
The prize of the blog prediction game for the lucky winner will be the epic card:
Here we got the battle:
Game instruction:
Try to point out which monster will die first on the battlefield and who wins the battle
- t - top player
- b - bottom player
- number - order counting from the first position
Examples:
t2b = monster on the second position of top player die first, the bottom player wins
b6t = monster on the sixth position of bottom player die first, the top player wins
t3t = monster on the third position of top player die first, the top player wins
nice battles!
