Weekly Battles to Showcase ~ Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!

Hello people on Splinterlands, how are you all?
With everything, there is always something new on the air. Good, bad, or the worst, whatever it is we gotta cope with that and step ahead. So here I am, with some of my battles to showcase in order to participate in this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! and share my experiences, to state what worked for me and what did not. Also, looking forward to learning the same from others. That is what these engaging initiatives are meant for, right?

Let's go ahead with the battles one by one...

Ruleset: Back to Basics

  • Units lose all abilities.
  • Summoner effects are still active

Back to basics, like no abilities for the monsters. So I just placed a melee as a tank and went with the magic monsters. I could have gone with OBSIDIAN as my summoner and built a magic lineup, could have been better, right? Well, the existing one was good as well. My opponent made some mistakes like placing a melee at second which couldn't attack as long as wasn't in the first place and also used ranged monsters which were useless when in the first position. So, these were the points that worked to my benefit and I won the match pretty easily.

Battle - 2: No Chance to Stand!!

Ruleset: Melee Mayhem

  • Melee units can attack from any position.
  • Prime use case for melee units with Bloodlust.
  • Abilities take precedence where targeting is concerned.

This one was dominating, my monsters have dominated the whole match as I got some really good monsters on the lineup. Bloodlust in the first place. Yeah, my opponent's thorns monster did some extra damage to my end but guess what, double strike and trample ability monsters paid them back with some amazing strikes. It was a reflection of a perfect plan that was executed pretty well.

Battle - 3: One Mistake Yet Victory!!

Ruleset: Counterspell

  • All units receive the Magic Reflect ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with magic receive damage back.
  • Damage returned is equal to the damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.
  • Magic units with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from reflected magic attacks.

Well, the ruleset was towards magic reflect and so I didn't include any magic monsters but again, while selecting the lineup, I messed with one melee monster. The third one, placed a reach ability monster at the third position, instead of any opportunity and sneak one. But again, things were more than enough for the other ones, trample got triggered multiple times due to the summoner. Why on earth my opponent chose a magic monster despite having this ruleset I don't know. My Bloodlust and Double strike ability did the rest of the work and got an easy win.
