I would support adding this to the algorithm for reputation. Like I think current rep score (meaning what's displayed, not the actual score recorded in the code) - the KE ratio number would probably be good. The only real casualties here are the curation accounts that pay out to their delegators.
According to a post from 16 days ago, the following are the top 10 reps along with their Ratio score and what their reps would be if the KE were subtracted from it:
hbd.funder 99.81 - 3.77KE = 96.04
buildawhale 89.30 - 19.79 = 69.51
taskmaster4450 85.57 - 0.77 = 84.8
haejin 85.53 - 68.56 = 16.97
oflyhigh 85.21 - 2.26 = 82.95
tarazkp 85.12 - 1.68 = 83.44
ocd 84.74 - 19.23 = 65.51
chbartist 83.60 - 35194.04 = -35110.44(lol)
poshtoken 83.35 - 7.25 = 76.1
galenkp 83.06 - 0.8 = 82.26
As you can see, it would certainly shake things up a bit and surely knock some of them out of the top 10,but I'm not too sure if that's a bad thing or not. In the case of OCD, does rep score matter that much to their operations? In the case of haejin and chbartist, I would think those are deserved. I don't know much about chbartist but I know haejin would deserve such a score.
also there is nothing to shake up :)
some of these are curation accounts........they are evaluated differently, they are always on power down, as they return earnings to their delegators. Their KE should be very high.
Others on your list are known abusers and have been inactive for a very long time.
Again. I say don't worry about it. Especially reputation. It doesn't mean anything anymore.
"some of these are curation accounts"
I know. Maybe I didn't do a good job of fully communicating my awareness of issue with the ratio's use as a factor in determining reputation for them when I mentioned that they pay out their delegators.
"there is a thing call raw reputation"
Yeah I know. That's why I specified the number displayed and not the actual score.
"You can't subtract KE which is a ratio, from a log, which is rep."
Sure you can. It's the same as how you've told people in the comments here that KE is simply one factor of many. Subtracting the KE is just a way of considering both factors simultaneously. That's not to say that there still aren't other factors to consider though.
"there is nothing to shake up...reputation... doesn't mean anything anymore"
It never did... Well it's meant exactly what it means currently which is a representation of the amount of upvotes (not the number of occurences but the HP behind them) an account has received minus the amount of qualifying downvotes an account has received. Still, many people see rep as a meaningful metric. While you and I might ignore it, most other users don't. That's why I'm always trying to find ways to improve it. Prolific abusers should not be presented as highly repuatble accounts IMO.
it doesn't make any sense, this is simply because, you can't subtract KE which is a ratio, from a log, which is rep.
In case you don't know, there is a thing call raw reputation
your raw reputation = 26,539,522,890,505.00
the reputation you see on peakd or hive.blog is calculated from raw reputation as follows:
=((LOG10(H4132)-9)*9)+25
you can't subtract a simple ratio from a log10 number can get any meaningful mathematical quantity :)
Also, am I really ranked 729 in HP?
At the time of the data extraction, yes
Crazy. Where can I find that? How much HP does spot 500 have (as of today)?
What is “crazy” about it?
https://hivebuzz.me/ranking
Just never expected that I'd be in the top 1000 HP holders.
Yeah, it looks like Hive buzz says I'm number 1715. 😭
I was feeling proud of myself too 🤣.
I have discarded inactive accounts from my analysis. So I say, don’t worry about “dead accounts”
