I am a bit behind with my posts what with Christmas and everything here. My first full season back in wild has come and gone and it seems long a long time ago since I was last playing in modern.
I have still been playing my brawls manually which have been fun using more varied card types. The rulesets are getting confusing though as they keep changing and its hard to keep up with what they mean. Certainly there is opportunity there to simplify things and make it more fun for players.
This season my ranking was just 3640 vs 3820 last month, and I earned 38k glint compared to 87k last season. I was renting between 25k of SPS, which is less than previously in modern. It brings noticeably less glint which isn't good.
In wild I also need to pay 2000 DEC to play, at the moment I am not sure if I am earning enough to cover this, so will keep monitoring.
I went ahead with my major chest strategy and opened 54 chests this time using my during the season earned glint too.
I did not get any legendaries and but I did get a few epic cards which helps my goal there.
It was much better for me in the Glad cards. I opened 12 Glad packs and pulled a legendary Fina Voxom which was really cool to get a shakey shakey... those are so rare for me now.
My progress ticks up very slowly in my glad collection but keeps moving importantly.
My soulbound rebellion cards progressed so so again, with only +3% on my common cards and +1% on my rare cards. With my lucky epic pulls, I am +3% on my epic cards at 6%. Still some way to go.. Im not sure that I am gonna make it here...
Quiet Times
Despite the start of the alt season, things seem very quiet on Splinterlands right now. Not much happening and not much hype either. Can things be turned around?
We have lost a pretty good guild member recently who has lost interest in the game. I presume there has been some consolidation amongst the guilds with the falling number of active players.
As this is one of the most fun aspects of the game, I am thinking if this part of the gameplay could be expanded and made more fun for players. The buildings and stuff are quite boring parts for me, but maybe some more interaction with other guilds made possible, such as challenges to get more interaction and maybe ability to choose rules/game types so people can flex their favorite cards in their collection.
Market Snapshot
We are in the middle of BULLcember and Bitcoin finally broke the $100k barrier and reached $108k so far. There still seems lots of doubt about how far Bitcoin will go this cycle and if we are near a top. I guess it is prudent to not listen to the engagement farmers on X with their outlandish claims.
Splinterlands tokens are still flat and showing no signs of life. I mean there are so many of them too. The only noticeable thing has been the amount of DEC held by the company decreasing by over 100M. The amount held by the DAO looks to have doubled to 2000M. The amount in the market/pools has 4x'ed. The DEC liquidity has massively increased by the looks of it.
The big story though in the last weeks was that of Hive hitting the $0,40 handle and being firmly rejected and falling all the way back down to $0,27 as of speaking. It did look as though it was sitting firmly in the $0,30 area and could even go much higher. It is for sure the comeback kid token and it will be interesting to see what it does in the rest of this alt season.
Thats all for this update.
How was your season?
Thanks for reading.

I made a lot less too, I have only been doing brawls this last season. To earn enough glint you have to rent a ton of SPS, plus the 2000 DEC wild pass. ROI just isn't there and now SPS is starting to slide down again pricewise. I'm starting to worry about the game long term once again.
Not a bad season though! Great job!
Thanks, yes it's hard to justify to pay the pass with the time investment when the rewards aren't there. Fingers crossed the game can turn things around again.
The feeling of getting that shaky shaky is almost incomprehensible, and to see it was a voxom and not one regular weak legendary is good as well. Playing in modern is probably unsustainable for me, I think a time will come, I might but not be able to afford those 2k DEC anymore.
It is an amazing feeling. I wish I could have more shakey shakey. I think if I cannot afford the 2k DEC anymore, I might need to stop playing. It would be a sad day.
Indeed it's always a nice feeling. To be very honest, we could have found ways to handle the bot situations rather than slapping 2k DEC battle pass. It would be sad not to play an enjoyable game again..
I have a feeling I am going to have to start selling SPS if I want to keep participating in the wild seasons. Modern is just too time consuming and difficult. Plus, I invested a lot in those earlier cards that they seem to have just given up on.
I am doing that, I am not sure I am earning enough to even cover it though.
I need to spend some of my Glint I think.
DEC is fairly cheap right now, for under $8 you can get 10,000 DEC which would last you 5 seasons in Splinterlands or about 10 weeks...
