The Problem
Everyone knows that when you play at high bronze or low silver you are extremely likely to encounter many magic teams. These teams can be a pain and the butt if you do not know how to handle them. Many people think the best way to counter them is too mirror the deck and have something similar. I have found that I like to use a much cheaper and much less common approach than most people. It is really that easy. I looked and saw that he often ran with Djinn Oshannus and Wavesmith, this is an extremely common tactic. Also a because I knew my magic attacks would not do much to his Djinn I knew I would be better off using ranged attacks. This was a relatively low mana game and that is reflected in my monster choice. Here is my lineup –
As you can see he did exactly what I expected and one with the same team that he repeatedly uses. Many players do this. It is up to you to look at previous matches and counter what you expect your enemy to do.
How The Fight Went Down
After the first round my magic reflect has taken out both his 1 hp monsters - the ice pixie and and enchanted pixie. I have done some damage with my ranged attacks to his Djinn. He has killed my rusty android but now my prismatic will move to the front and continue to reflect magic.
After round 2 I have chopped away at the hp of his backline while continually chopping down his Djinn as well. If anything of his dies then my heals will make it so I outpace his damage. Lets see what happens!
At the beginning of this round the only thing left standing is the Djinn. His backline has all killed itself from my magic reflect. My crustacean has healed me up and I have the same HP as I did at the beginning of last round. It is over for the all powerful Djinn. He is going to get finished by my weak ranging backline. Victory is sweet...
Personally I use Bortus but your counter is a simple effective one also :)
