For reading unfamiliar with jargon like 'land 1.75' don't worry, I will keep things simple so even for someone reading this who is not a player (yet) it's understandable!
But first, I'm making this post for this weeks Community Engagement Challenge, if you're not participating in this, I really recommend you should try this - it won't be easy at first the the rewards for commitment and dedication can be pretty nice, @cherokee4life you should definitely get in to this one - I might have talked a little tiny bit of fomo in this dude and he jumped head over heels in to buying SIX land plots 😄 well done mate!
@artofkylin is his friend who is a new Splinterlands player, and while land is maybe not for really new players unless it's someone with a lot of free funds, to start with a blog post here and there can help your account a lot, even if you can't do this every single week, every time you do counts!

Some context first
So, for people reading this that are somewhat interested in Splinterlands but aren't really familiar, Splinterlands is a Collectible Trading Card Game on the blockchain where you can battle other player with your cards in different formats such as Ranked Battles to earn rewards for every season of roughly two weeks, play Tournaments with your cards for more rewards (crypto!), dive in to more battles together with your friends in a guild vs. guild fight called Guild Brawls and this is just the battle part, the game has two modes in which one of them you can let the battles be handled automatically with a botting service and just manage your cards if battling and strategy is not your thing but managing, building a deck and collecting cards IS.
Making blogs like these is another part of what makes my Splinterlands experience great, and also the friends I have made along the way.
When I started playing Splinterlands 3.5 years ago, I didn't knew what I was doing but back then, land plots were being sold, I won't get in to complicated details but a long story short is things took waaaay too long and it took two years before the owners could even OPEN their land deeds to see what rarity they bought so long ago, but still they couldn't do anything else with it 😕 (yeah, the company was in hard times in the past and made some mistakes but things are SO MUCH improved thank God)
So, in 2024 finally the first steps were made so players could really DO something with their lands, put workers (cards) on it and start producing items, but it was still only a small number of items and basically it wasn't much more than click a harvest button once a week, this was in preparation for more exciting times. This phase was called 'Land 1.5' and players could start to stockpile the first resource available, Grain.
Because the future of land plans are so complicated (and exciting!!) it took a lot of work for the lead developer who took over from someone who started this project and he worked his ass off to get the next phase live: Land 1.75 which is being released this Tuesday, March 18th 2025, more on that later!
But first I want to drop this screenshot of what land is planned to be, I have to warn you though because seeing this image might have something to do with @cherokee4life blaming me for feeling some FOMO! 🤣
Putting workers on land, producting resources, refining them in to other resources and make products with other players need for different aspects of the game and make money with it this way to expand your empire even more.So, even if a card game is not something for you, this might very well be, there are players that are not even in a guild and don't use their cards for battles but are all-in on land, like a player well known in the community called @goldmatters.

My plans for the Splinterlands Land Game
So, as an enthusiastic Splinterlands player, playing the battle part of the game every day for over 3.5 years already I also wanted a piece of this Splinterlands Land pie, and without going in to much details on how this all happened I bought my first plot of land on June 12 2023, that's the beauty of blockchain, everything is logged and easily checked!
So, as you can see in the picture above, I recently bought two more land plots, and plan to buy some more to bring them online later because activating land plots isn't cheap...
💡 Are you optimizing your plots for maximum efficiency?
Well, no not yet, because optimizing requires additional funds which for now I am funneling in to different aspects on the world of Splinterlands like buying new plots of land but we are also getting close to a new card set, there is just so much exciting stuff going on it is just like putting a kid in a candy store!
I am making plans for this in my head, like I know I still need to buy totems for my land plots to increase it's yield and maybe buy other cards (workers) to further enhance my production.
💰 What are your strategies for the new ways to grow, trade, and profit?
To be honest, I'm not planning THAT far ahead yet, I don't know what it's all going to be like so my plan is just to prepare a nice starting point as a good foundation, ideally with about 10 plots of land in total and start from there. I am now at 6 plots, well actually 7 but I have one for sale in a region I don't own any other plots in.
📊 What are your predictions for the future of Splinterlands land ownership?
Well, currently the floor price for common plots of land is ONLY $13 but when people see how awesome this all is going to be (and profitable!) the demand for plots will grow because there are only 150.000 of them in total with no plans to expand this.
Demand will rise with a set supply, well.. it's like with Bitcoin... the sky is the limit and I'm excited to be a part in this!

I am hoping to get land in the nearish future. Funds are tight buuut if things work out with a way of earning crypto via freecash I might have a decent chunk of change which is gonna get spent at least partly, on land.
