For simple use, staking is a process where you set your cryptocurrencies and provide security to the system.
The advantage is that it gives you rewards. The disadvantage is that you can't sell the staked amount immediately, but are incapable of acting for a certain period of time (depending on the coin) due to the process of unstaking.
For example, I would not stake DEC at this stage because the coin is supposed to be at 1$=1000DEC but is currently at around 1$=500DEC. And I would like to be able to trade the coin from day to day or buy cards with it.
SPT and SPS are promising to continue to rise in price in the future, making them more suitable for the stake process.
