Hello everyone! This is my second entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today, I'm sharing two battles of mine in Modern Diamond Ranked.
I fought two interesting short battles in Modern Champion ranked. In one of them, I went against Venka with Akane using Kha'zi Conjurer in a game without Back to Basics! In the other, I faced Waka Spiritblade with Mantaroth.

Here's the first battle: https://splinterlands.com/battle/sl_cd9891dec312d3e862797d745f47a0ec

This game had the following rule sets: Weak Magic, Fog of War, and Holy Protection. The mana cap was 12, and the active splinters were Fire and Dragon. I went with Quix the Devious, putting Halfling Refugee in front. I followed it up with Naga Assassin, Pyrewatch Devil, and Kha'zi Conjurer. They opted for Akane, placing Elanor Bravefoot in front, followed by Scorch Fiend. They finished the team with Venka the Vile.

Ambush Round
They gave Ambush to Venka and the Fiend. However, it didn't do anything for the Fiend since it was not in the first position. Venka attacked and took out Halfling's Divine Shield.

Round 1
My ranged units attacked and took out Elanor and removed the Fiend's Divine Shield. Venka put my Halfling to 1 HP, and it Healed itself back to 3 before finishing the Fiend.

Round 2
Kha'zi Conjurer took 2 damage from the Burning. Naga Assassin's hit the Divine Shield, and Kha'zi Conjurer dealt the 6 damage needed to kill Venka.

It's not often that Kha'zi Conjurer kills a Venka, but Holy Protection makes the 7 attack beast a bit less dangerous. The Trample is much less effective, and it needs some other faster unit to remove the Divine Shield first. If they had placed the Fiend in the first position, assuming the Fiend doesn't miss, those 2 damage points on the Halfling would ensure that Venka gets to kill the Halfling in round 1. If Venka doesn't miss Naga Assassin with the Trample attack and the attack in round 2, it would still die to Kha'zi Conjurer's attack in round 3. But the game would have been much closer.

Here's the second battle: https://next.splinterlands.com/battle/sl_749ffedcc37e41f02f8a58b7e9fcb8b1

This game had the following rule sets: Target Practice, Close Range, and Might Makes Right. The mana cap was 14, and the active splinters were Life and Death. I went with Eternal Tofu, putting Halfling Refugee in front. Stitch Leech was my second one, and I finished with Uraeus. Their team was simply Waka Spiritblade and Mantaroth. I gave Triage and Scavenger to Halfling Refugee.

Round 1
My units were faster, and they eliminated Mantaroth's armor and put it to
9 HP. Uraeus also Poisoned it. Mantaroth also Poisoned my first unit. Thorns took out the armor it Repaired.

Round 2
My attacks finished Mantaroth before it could attack during this round.

I think this game could have been much worse for me. If Halfling got Exhauted in one of the first two rounds and Uraeus didn't trigger the Poison, I might have been in trouble. An easy way to make this battle 100% safe for me would have been to choose the Divine Shield and Corrosive Ward. The Divine Shield would probably prevent as much damage as the Triage or even more, and the Corrosive Ward would take out the armor forever.

What do you all think about this game? Would you have done anything different? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading!!
