Splinterlands still has a Bot problem.

in Splinterlandslast year

Why Bots still remain to be a problem.

  1. Unfair Competition: Bots can give an unfair advantage to certain players by automating gameplay, leading to an imbalanced competitive environment.

  2. Economic Distortion: Bots can artificially inflate or manipulate in-game markets, leading to price distortions and undermining the legitimate efforts of players to earn in-game rewards.

  3. Diminished Player Experience: The presence of bots can detract from the overall player experience by creating an environment that feels less authentic, challenging, and engaging.

  4. Erosion of Trust: The existence of bots can erode player trust in the game's fairness, potentially leading to a decline in player retention and new player acquisition.

  5. Negative Reputation: The prevalence of bots can tarnish the reputation of Splinterlands, deterring potential players who seek a genuine and balanced gaming experience.

  6. Reduced Incentive for Legitimate Players: Bots can diminish the incentive for legitimate players to invest time and resources in the game, as their efforts may be devalued by unfair competition.

  7. Disruption of Game Balance: Bots can disrupt the balance of gameplay mechanics, undermining the strategic and skill-based aspects of the game.

  8. Undermining Game Integrity: The presence of bots can undermine the integrity of Splinterlands as a competitive gaming platform, potentially leading to disillusionment among the player community.

  9. Economic Instability: Bots can contribute to economic instability within the game by distorting supply and demand dynamics, impacting the value of in-game assets, and creating an uncertain marketplace.

  10. Stifled Community Growth: The negative impacts of bots can impede the growth of the Splinterlands community, limiting its potential for expansion and diversification.

I agree with you that bots are a problem for splinterlands, but I don't agree with any of your arguments.
The real problem with accounts that use bots, and there are usually thousands of them, is that they are cheating. They are cheating because they are reading the other players' cards before each battle, and then choosing the team that beats that other player.
If the bots didn't cheat, they wouldn't be a problem because they would be just another player with a good memory and game strategy.
