Hi, I'm Paul, an aspiring graphic designer/illustrator.
The second week of November will be over in a few days. I'm feeling the slight change of the air breeze in the Philippines or it is just because of another low pressure area has entered in the Philippine's Area of Responsibility and they named it Nika.
MY ART REFERENCE
For this week's art contest, I decided to create a fan illustration of Meriput Slinger, a rare, death unit monster from the Rebellion Series. Based on its lore, it is a shy creature and peaceful creature of the Muriden, nevertheless, with dangers in every direction, they alert their tribe using different variation of squeaks to defend and attack when it is possible by using varying spells and slings with rocks or steel.
MY ART PROCESS
For starters, I created a simple rough sketch of what I visualized the character. I decided to do a simple standing version of it. After all the coloring process, my sister ask me jokingly if this is a mouse or a cat. Because it is a pipsqueak, this is a mouse type art.
For the coloring process, I decided to add the color detail to the sling, followed by coloring from head to the bottom part of my art. The colors as based on the original palette of the character based.
