Using Jared Scar and Win the Battle by Understanding how the Target Practice Ruleset Work

in Splinterlands2 months ago (edited)

Hello, everyone we meet again, today I will make a post about Community Engagement Challenge: Tips How to Battle in The Target Practice Ruleset, in this ruleset I will use Jared Scar to take advantage of the ruleset.

These tips may only suit someone with limited resources who can't rent or buy expensive/strong cards. Cause in my scholar account I only have a standard card, cheap to rent or buy.

Way to Fight in the Target Practice Ruleset

Target Practice ruleset, all ally units have Snipe ability

  • Snipe ability: targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.

There are several strategies to battle in this ruleset :

  • Battle as usual but make sure to bring the unit with the Taunt ability so all range and magic units will attack this unit. Our range and magic unit will be safe until our unit with the Taunt ability dies. Example unit with the Taunt ability is like Wave Brood, Mycelic Slipspawn, Iziar, etc :
  • Bring a Tanker like Pelacor Conjurer, Chaos Agent, Baakjira, etc, and put it either in the 2nd - or 6th position, so all enemy range and magic attacks will attack this unit, make our other unit is safe until the tanker die.

  • Bring melee unit only, this makes the enemy range and magic unit without an ability like Opportunity/Sneak to attack our unit in the first position, so we must put a good tanker in the first position.

  • Combination of strategy above.

With this ruleset as long there is a unit with the Taunt ability or range/magic/unit who can't attack and is not in the first position then our melee will be safe from range and magic attack.

How to win using Jared Scar on the Target Practice ruleset battle

In this post, we will focus to discussing about strategy/tips using the Jared Scar unit from the Life element in battle with the Target Practice ruleset.

This unit ability :

RulesetDescription
Bloodlust, every time this unit kills the enemy it gets +1 to all stats.
True Strike, this unit attack can't be missed.
Piercing, if the attack destroys the enemy unit armor then the remainder damage will hit the health. For example, if the enemy unit armor is 3 with 5 health, our unit damage is 5 then after it is destroyed the armor will give 2 damage to health, and the enemy will left with only 3 health.

Jared Scar is usually used when there is a ruleset that makes this unit attack from any position (Melee Mayhem, Super Sneak, Equal Opportunity) then we can put it in the safer position behind. This unit is weak against attack.

From understanding the Target Practice ruleset we know that our melee (Jared Scar) unit in the first position is safe too from range and melee attack as long we have range/magic/unit who doesn't have any attack behind. So we only need to worry about melee attackers.

We will discuss more about it while looking at battle 1 for a clear explanation :

In this low mana battle usually the enemy will not prepare when we put the Jared Scar In front, they will bring a small mana unit with low armor/health which can easily killed by Jared Scar, in this battle we depend a lot from the Bloodlust ability. We bring Venari Marksrat who has Martyr ability if the enemy brings range/magic/unit with the Sneak ability and kills Venari Marksrat then the stats of Jared Scar will increase. Usually, we will need summoner Lux Vega to give armor and health to unleash Jared Scar potential. We can see in this battle with the help of Martyr ability Jared Scar can kill the enemy in front one by one while the enemy range unit is busy attacking our Venari Marksrat. This was not an easy battle cause we were hit by Uraeus poison attack but we managed to win this battle.

battle 2

Another battle uses the same summoner with a different enemy, almost the same as the first battle but in this battle the enemy brings many magic attackers which are created by using Weapon Training ability from Aves Sturgis. In this battle with the help of Celestial Harpy, we kill the enemy in front one by one. The enemy magic unit has difficulty killing our tanker Pelacor Conjurer. those because of the Blind (increasing chance of evading the attack by 15%) ability from our Blinding Reflector and speed increase from our summoner. We already predict that the enemy will bring a unit with the Sneak ability in this battle so we put Blinding Reflector behind.

Conclusion

  • Make sure no element water because if they put Baakjira in front it will be hard for Jared Scar to kill it.
  • By understanding how the Target Practice ruleset works, put some tanker (range/magic/unit with no attack) in the 2nd-6th position to protect our Jared Scar from range and magic attack.
  • I think 25 or below the mana cap is ideal to use Jared Scar in the first position because the enemy will likely use the unit with low health and armor in the first position.
  • Bring summoner Lux Vega to increase the win rate using Jared Scar, for more speed, health, and armor.
