Heya Splinterbuddies! It is your's truly once again with some Broken Arrows topic for this Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge. If you believe in Cupid, just pray that it wont hit you with this kind of arrow and cost you a very bad option in your love life. lol.
Broken Arrow
Units with ranged attacks cannot be used.
Units with 2 types of attack (which include ranged) cannot be used.
Note:
Consider utilizing units with Thorns or Magic Reflect, as your opponent will have to use either melee or magic units.
- As I am playing with this rule, the first thing that comes to my mind is saying goodbye to my good friend Venari Marksrat or Fungus Flinger for the reason that they are not gonna be for this round of battle. Yep, what i am trying to say here is i cannot use the Martyr ability in this ruleset for bronze league. Too sad. Well, it is part of the game so we don't have to be too much depressed about it. So how we should fight in this ruleset? In my battle opinion (which is less than 50% winning rate at the moment. lol), avoid anything that have anything to do with Range like using Quix or General Sloan for summoning and other such things that will just loose your edge when you are creating your team.
- Let us see a battle example for this rule:
The ruleset is:
Broken Arrow in 14 Mana Capacity and I want Fire Splinters to form my team. It's a small mana capacity battle so i think fire splinters with their Melee attackers is the best choice for this round.

- Ok, choosing Tarsa as the summoner with its boost in Melee damage and my Team's Health, I believe that it is suited to be my team's summoner. Radiated Scorcher and Scorch Fiend will take the front and Golbano Soldier and Tenyii Striker will be my main offense in my line-up. Adding Chaos Agent to cover the back of my team. With the cards placed, it should be noted that I am concentrating at my enemies back with my two cards that got sneak skill.
- The Battle
Facing the Death Splinter of my opposing team with Thaddius Brood as the summoner, it is debuffing my team with -1 in Magic and -1 in Health. I am not using any Magic damage dealers here so my team is not affected by that. The only thing that is getting on my nerves is that thorn ability of Cursed Windeku. Curse that thing! If my melee attackers touch that card, since i did not see a "missed" on a thorns's ability, my attacker will sure eat some damage.
Round 1
Gabalano Soldier is smoothly using its skills in this round and taking the lives of the back monsters of the enemy.
Round 2
Cursed Windeku is really a thorn in my team here. Aside from thorn, it even had a decent amount of health. I am on loosing side.
Round 4
The painful truth. Never touch a thorn. This is my lost in this battle.
- In general, the ruleset is applied to the game to limit the options for your team making and you must posses a good numbers of cards to gain the upper hand in battle because you can choose more game plan if your favorite cards are not available for usage. In this regard, Broken Arrow removed all Range Monsters in your card choices and limit it for only Melee and Magic plays. And also, Its not always the summoners ability that will place you to the top of the game, consider also the monster's stat because splinterlands is always a team of your cards game.
