Greetings splinterbuddies. Its another Weekly Battle Mage Secrets time and here I am again to tackle this ruleset.

Close Range

Units with ranged attacks are allowed to attack in the first position.

  • This is a bit unusual Ruleset for me since I am much more familiar with the Melee and Magic related Rulesets. But anyways, it was demanded by our Splinterlands Subject so lets just see what can I make with this one. But still, there are good Ranged cards in splinterlands that will make you in favor to them especially when you put them in a Yodin Zaku summon. I miss this foxy guy in modern.

  • Let us see a battle example for this rule:

The ruleset is:

Close Range in 40 Mana Capacity. Adding Melee Mayhem and Silenced Summoner to the mix, Lets just say we are being played by splinterlands. lol. Kidding aside, this battle preview came from one of the tournaments I am playing here in splinterlands limiting the cards to level one and Rebellion cards common to epic ratings. And I am playing it with Fire this time.

  • Considering the Silenced Summoner ruleset, I am choosing Brewmaster Abraxas as my sumonner for the reason that Fire and Earth splinter monsters will be available for your usage at the same time. Yes, This is a dual element summoner for Earth and Fire which you can use and for a team to your liking and with that characteristic, it will not grant any abilities to your monster. It is also a good summoner for the reason that it only consumes 3 Mana in your line up. Ulundin Overseer is my tank with Moxian Rebel enhancing it and Grimbaldun Smith to gain Magic damage. I choose to provide a Magic damage to Ulundin Overseer and Grimbardun Smith because Magic is not being interrupted by any ruleset in this battle and it will just neglect armor (unless it is void) if attack. I use another Weapons Training possessing card Dalthin Ironwood to boost another attack given to Grimbardun Smith. Now it got two types of damage, Magic and Range. For the remaining slots in my line up, I am choosing two melee user that can attack in the back and any positions in the form of Gobalano Soldier and Torch Vizier. Why i did not choose another no-attack cards to place beside Dalthin Ironwood? Since it is limiting the type of cards to be used in this battle to Rebellion series only, I am placing the cards that i think capable to gain me a win in this fight. This is the situation so we are just adapting. And besides, This two melee cards are really deadly even if they are not enhanced by the summoner.

  • The Battle

The opponent this time chose the same summoner as I did. The difference is my opponent is much more concentrated in Melee Mayhem ruleset that is why the Weapons Training it use is for melee. Lets proceed to the battle.

Round 1

I don't know what happen in this round but Ulundin Overseer became the center of the attacks. Well its lucky for me because that is really a tanky card and can absorb much damage. Maybe they dont like its smug face? lol.

Round 3

Continuing in the battle, most of the cards that got a droplet amount of health already left the fight. A good thing happen to this round is the opponent's healer also packed up and leave the battlefield.

Round 3

Close Range effect cause Grimbardun Smith to Finish the battle. Its sturdy life let it stays in front and end the fight. This is my win.

  • Close Range is another type of ruleset that is boosting specific ability which is for Ranged this time. Some Monsters got this skill such as Gargoya Devil, Tatiana Blaydie, etc. so attacking in front is no problem. For all range that suddenly got the ability to attack in front with this ruleset, well, just chose the right one to take your front. Cards with the ability to tank and with a Range attack are too little in numbers if I am not mistaken.
