Welcome to my blog for another exciting entry into the splinterlands engagement challenge. As we know it, a new phase has come to splinterlands and we are absolutely loving it. The only problem with this new phase is that you need to own a lot of cards to be able to risk it in the survival mode.
Let me tell you why I say it’s too big of a risk to play in survival mode when you don’t have a lot of cards. Survival mode as the name suggests is a not like modern or wild league. Even though it has similar features one or two things distinguish how you navigate round this one. With the modern and wild league you get paired against an online opponent which is the same as in the survival mode. Just that with the survival mode you loose cards when you get defeated. Now, this is a confusing statement.
Like I said in my previous spl post, at the mention of loosing a card to cool down when you get defeated, you’ll think it only applies when you loose the battle overall but it’s not the case. When that particular card gets defeated then you loose it. So imagine you have only one max card of let’s say Armenis bear and you put it in the first position which makes it highly possible to be defeated. This means that you’ll loose the card for a while and it can’t be used in the modern and wild leagues.
The cool down depends, I’ve lost some cards for a whole season whiles others went on cool down an only a few days.
So this is how I’ve decided to navigate the new survival mode. For now it’s red hot and a lot of people or should I say spl maxis are talking about it, this means that right now the competition in there is premium. What I’ve decide to do now is to only play a few games in survival mode each season. Playing a few games each season will allow me loose less cards in there. Also there are a lot of cards which I hardly use in the modern league when I am playing day to day so instead I’ll have to make a set of cards that I’ll be using for survival mode.
If you didn’t know, let me tell you that you can make up a set of cards that’ll be available for use when you want to play in the survival mode. I advice strongly to you using this strategy as it’ll help you not loose the cards that you need in the modern league.
If you just go ahead and use cards randomly you’ll end up loosing cards which you’ll need.
I play survival mode similar to modern league. I don’t look at my opponents last used cards as that hurts my chances of selecting good cards for the job. I take a look at the rulesets and chose cards to match the situation. So yh, I don’t have a lot of changes or things that I do for survival mode. It’s basically same old same old except having to make a new card set for survival mode cause it helps a great deal.
