Splinterlands Potion: How to use it?

in Splinterlands3 years ago

For the very first time, after finishing your daily quest you will get to open a chest and when you opened it you get a potion. Now, the question is how will I use it? I'm very much excited to get a legendary card or a gold foil card. Thoughts that run to mind after receiving these potions.

There are 3 types of Potion.

  1. Legendary
  2. Alchemy
  3. Quest

Commonly, legendary and alchemy are the only potion you can get on your daily quest chest. On the other hand, a quest potion can only be obtained by purchasing it in the shop. Though you can buy them all in the shop. There are 2 ways to buy potions it's either you pay with credits or with DEC.

Potion cost:
Legendary Cost - 40 DEC/ Charge
Alchemy Cost - 50 DEC / Charge
Quest Cost - 750 DEC / Charge

Quest potions give 1 free bonus when you purchase 10 quest positions.
Since you can pay it with credit or DEC as of now it is advisable to pay with credits compare to DEC. DEC fluctuates and the value will depend on the current market trade.

Here's a short breakdown.
$1 = 1000 Credits
10 Potions = 7500 Credits / $7.50
$0.75 = 750 DEC
10 Potions = 7500 DEC / $56.7375 (Current market value in USD)

Legendary and alchemy potions increase the % chance of getting a gold foil and legendary when opening packs or dice. It will automatically consume each potion when it is available to use. Opening packs will give you 5 cards and each card consumes 1 alchemy and 1 legendary when opening. However, it doesn't assure you that you will get a legendary or gold foil in a pack it can only assure you to get at least a rare card or better. One more thing, these don't affect on quest chest or end season chest.

When you bought quest potions you will see here the number of charges available. Upon completing your daily quest it will automatically deduct the number of charges when you claim it. Quest potion gives you another 5 chests and in bronze, you will get 6 chests in total.

Hope this gives you clarifications on how to use a potion.

You cannot pay with credits for quest potions and the prices are 10 times bigger ... 750 DEC for 1 charge = 6$ for 1 charge ... kinda expensive

Reply: Surely this is NOT correct. Surely winning a card does not consume 2 potions per card ??
