Introduction
Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday.
This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion and now also the Riftwatchers cards, as they brought new abilities that changes how we play the game.
Starting this season, all the cards that we will get on our daily and season chest will be Soul Bound meaning that this rewards card cannot be sold or transferred and will stay on the owner's account just like Gladiator cards. Last week, I began taking a deep dive on the old rewards card, knowing that they won't be printed anymore and I started with the Fire Element. Now, I'm going to look for the old reward cards from the Water element but before that, here are the new rewards card that we will see on our chest starting this season.
Some of the abilities from this cards have been change while they are being played at the test server but appearance- wise, this is how they looked.

Element | Water |

RF Burn Value | 100 DEC |

Card Stats
Tide Biter is an epic melee reward card for the Water Element with the Reach ability at level 1 that that allows melee monsters to attack at the 2nd position, Reflection Shield that makes it immune from indirect and reflected damage and True Strike that makes the attack of this card to never miss.
Card Price Djinn Oshannus Card Stats Djinn Oshannus is a legendary magic reward card for the Water Element with Void ability which reduce damage from magic attacks at level 1 and Phase on level 2 which allows this card to evade magic attacks. At level 3 it gains Forcefield which reduce the damage taken from monsters with 5 or more damage to only 1. Card Price Battle 1: Merdhampir, Pelacor Bandit and Tide Biter For a 17 mana battle with neutral monsters banned and there is both Explosive Weaponry and Aimless rule set, I decided to use range monsters so that thier attack can hit random targets and this is where Merdhampir becomes really good as it can gain when an opponent takes damage and that includes when they lose health due to Cripple allowing it to gain 2 health from Igor Darkspear and Hardy Stonefish. Meanwhile. I usually don't place Pelacor Bandit on front but for this battle, I feel like my opponent will place some damage sponge at the back so it's better to focus fire my damage on front as well as to use it to evade opponent attacks and until the end of round 2, it does not take any damage because of the Flying ability partnered with its speed. On the other hand, Tide Biter was effectively dealing damage while on the 2nd position with the Reach ability while preventing damage from connecting on both front and back with the Reflection Shield ability. Battle 2: Venari Wavesmith and Djinn Oshannus For the 2nd battle, we have Ferocity so the use of Taunt must be avoided as well as range monsters because of Fire & Regret so with only melee and magic to use, I go with magic with Djinn Oshannus as my tank since the opponent use a melee monster with Trample and depending on the opponent's choice, he might get some melee cards with more than 5 damage and the Forcefield ability can come in handy and although the opponent does not use monsters with trample, many of his cards have more than 5 damage including this Radiated Brute with a total of 8 damage due to melee buffs from the summoner and Inspire as well as Enrage which gives 1.5 damage increase but when it attacks Djinn Oshannus, it only deals 1 damage. As for Venari Wavesmith, the armor it provided has proven to be very useful for preventing fatal damage from Serpentine Spy attacking Spirit Hoarder that without an armor, can easily be taken with 1 hit due to low health. In my opinion, The water team has the most synchronicity between all the old reward cards as you can easily use 2 or 3 of them on a single line up, given that the melee and range cards works better with the water summoner Kelya Frendul while the 2 magic cards works well with Alric Stormbringer which is a wild summoner but there are still some plays on modern that can only be won using this magic cards not to mention that there are also many cards that complemented really well for the water on modern format alone so having them all can really improve your wins but if you don't have them, having at least Pelacor Bandit is something that one must commit to to have better chance on winning.
