All excited for Rebellion

in Splinterlandslast year

Rebellion presale has started and what more do splinterlands players want?

The excitement is real. To be honest, not many players were hopeful that the Rebellion presale would be a success given the recent developments, some people quitting the game, and others trying to spread negativity and gloom.

The discord channel of Splinterlands although it helps in communication is not what defines the Splinterlands player in real. There are many who do not even have a Discord account and just play Splinterlands. I know this for a fact because I was a member of a Russian guild whose members do not speak English and therefore do not participate in discord discussions and chat.

Back to the presale event. The rebellion presale event started yesterday and there was a small meeting hosted by Yabapmatt. Nate and Tim joined. The people who mattered i.e. the real-time players and investors who are really interested in all things Splinterlands were also present.

Like always, I am a bit too naive and thought about buying packs with credits but observing the chats, I learned that Dec was a better option. So, I converted some HBD to Hive, transferred it to the Tribal dex, and used the pool to swap the Swap Hive to Dec. Later, I transferred the Dec to my alt account so that I would get the referral credits and then transferred the vouchers to the account as well. A maximum of 5 vouchers can be used per pack. So, I had dec and vouchers for purchasing 11 packs.

You might be wondering why I went for such a low number when I had bought more than a thousand for Chaos. I had never flipped chaos packs because I love opening packs. Eventually, I bought enough Chaos packs to be a Maverick. Like the story of the Gift of the Magi, I had to sell some of my untamed to buy the Chaos packs. I could have taken a loan from Mr.Dragon but being a diabetic, I do not want to leave a debt behind.

I am hoping to buy more of Rebellion. it could be single cards or packs. My luck is below average most times. So, I do not want to risk it. I would like to point out that packs during presale have more chances of containing great cards than the ones in the secondary market according to my theory. It has been true for me from the times of untamed.

I joined Splinterlands when Untamed had been released. I wish I had joined during the times of beta. It is better late than never, though. I have seen the release of Dice and Chaos and Riftwatchers. Then there was the airdrop of the halfling Alchemist which was really exciting.

Some of the cards on Splinterlands in the reward category are still too good like the Ruler of the Seas and the Cube. Beta cards like the Cocatrice are really powerful too and the misses really help in winning. So, those who think that earlier editions are done for are missing the game altogether.

With the arrival of Rebellion, the untamed and all its related decks will be transferred to the Wild format. This will enable newer players to play without being tormented by the giants of the untamed. Hopefully, we will see an influx of new players when Rebellion is live.
