SPS Airdrop Update. How to take advantage on market movement

in Splinterlands3 years ago (edited)

49 out of 365 days for SPS airdrop. Have you been taking advantage of the current market situation? It's been about 3 weeks since I made an article about SPS staking VS SPS airdrop that is based on DEC holdings. Here is the link if you want to read my first article:

https://www.splintertalk.io/@scrims/sps-staking-vs-dec-airdrop-who-is-the-winner

To sum it up, about 3 weeks ago, SPS staking yields about 200% APR. With the power of compounding interest, your profits from staking can really go to the moon.

But upon comparing it to SPS airdrop yield from DEC holdings, it gave more SPS per dollar that you hold/stake or invested(whichever word is applicable in your case. lol). Approximately almost 400% APR.

23 days later, here is our current status:

  1. SPS Staking rate dropped from 200%APR to 115%APR in a month.

  1. SPS airdrop from DEC holdings dropped from 400%APR to approximately 215%APR. This picture shows the daily sps airdrop per USD1000.

  1. SPS dropped from a month high of USD0.51/sps to USD0.22/sps.

  1. DEC dropped from a month high of USD0.0085/dec to as low as USD0.0055/dec.

So what can we get from all of this information anyway?

  1. SPS staking rate dropping down means that more people are staking their sps. your total contribution percentage goes lower as more sps are staked. This may yield lower profits, BUT, this can be good for the SPS price. more people holding their SPS will help raise its price in the future.

  2. SPS airdrop rates from DEC holding has a similar situation with SPS staking. more people are holding on to their DEC and assets for the airdrops. In my opinion, this is good for the price of DEC to go higher in the short term. But other factors such as lands and application of SPS may affect its price in the long term.

  3. SPS price dropping can mostly be correlated to the movement of Bitcoin. If you are a crypto person, you must have noticed by now that the overall crypto movement mainly depends on how bitcoin moves. If bitcoin is in an uptrend, most cryptos will also rise. However, it also goes on the other direction when bitcoin goes on a downtrend.

  4. Same with DEC, as bitcoin goes down, it also went down.

Now that we've digested most of the information, what is the best move to take advantage in the current market situation, as an INVESTOR.

Before anything else, I would just like to inform yout that I am not a financial adviser, and all details below are just my personal preference, based on my own research. None of these are financial advise, and you better do your own research whenever you are investing your hard earned assets.

Now that we got that out of the way, below were my last 2 week's strategy and my future plans.

2 weeks ago, I used up most of my DEC to buy undervalued cards. as DICE and untamed packs were sold out, and some rewards cards going out of print. I bought a lot of summoners and I some monster cards. Here is the list of my purchases:

  1. Byzantine Kitty - bought 2 at USD420/each. sold 1 for 550. current price:700
  2. Aincient Lich - bought a bunch for USD35-45 each. currently holding on to it. current price:45
  3. Brighton Bloom - bought at bunch at 5.25, sold most of it at 7.9. current price: 7
  4. Owster Rotwell - bought a few at 7. Now at 12
  5. Kralus - bought 2 at 90. current price: 110
And a bunch of other cards.

Now, since season is almost ending, I am planning to sell most of the cards that I bought that has profit of at least 20%.

For SPS and DEC... I AM BUYING THE DIP!!! I'm Very bullish on these 2 especially with SPS. Chaos legion is about to go out and I am pretty sure, a lot of people are staking their sps to get as much packs as possible.

From chaos legion to land implementation, my personal bias is that SPS will, at the very least, hit the USD1 mark. I can see it happening before the end of this year. That's just my personal opinion though... as i have said, do your own research when investing.

I guess that's it for now! I hope you enjoy the 5 minute read and was able to learn something. If you like this kinds of content, please upvote and comment for any suggestion on future topics that you want me to talk about.
