Getting Close To Maxing Out My Reward Cards!

in Splinterlands2 days ago

A couple weeks ago I made a post on my progress towards maxing out the Rebellion rewards cards. Two weeks ago I hit a major milestone which was to max out all of my common rarity reward cards.

In this post I am going to take a look at the progress I was able to make in the last two weeks.

Overall Progress

Let's see how much I have progressed in the last two weeks in terms of overall progress. Here is what I was at two weeks ago:

Now, let's compare that to the current overall progress:

As you can see my gold foil cards are growing very slowly! I am basically up one percent across Common, Rare and Epic gold foil reward cards, but made no progress in Legendary gold foils.

If we take a look at regular foil the result look a lot better! I made a five percent progress in Rare cards and impressive ten percent progress in Epic cards! My Legendary rarity regular foil progress is also up 4%.

This means that it is possible that I will be complete with all reward cards at the start of next season in Splinterlands! Epic cards you have to be pretty lucky, but for all intensive purposes I would need to shift my focus to something else.

Rare Cards Progress

Let's dive in to the details. Common rarity are all maxed out so I will skip them this time. So if we look at the Rare cards from two weeks ago we see that out of twelve total cards I had four cards maxed out:

Now let's compare to my current progress for the regular foil rare cards:

We see that I now have seven out of the total of twelve cards maxed out! I am more that half way maxed out in the rare cards. And of the remaining five only one has many copies to be collected: Janni Rebel with 21 cards to max it out. The rest of my rare cards are between six and ten cards to max out, making it very likely that they will all be maxed out by the time next season starts.

Epic Card Progress

Now let's take a look at how my Epic cards have progressed. Here is where I was last season or fifteen days ago:

As we can see I had only one out of seven Epic rarity cards maxed out. The only card I had maxed out among my Epic rarity cards was Shock Trooper. Let's see what the state of my regular foil epic cards is now:

Now we see that I have five out of seven Epic rarity cards maxed out! That is really exiting as I believe these cards are the strongest cards in the Rebellion reward card set.

It would be nice to max out Olivia the Brook as it is a very strong card in some rulesets, but I am 14 epic cards away from maxing it out! That is kind of hard to do. I have only six cards to go to max out Arachne Weaver.

What Would You Do Next?

This places me in an interesting dilemma. I feel like rolling the dice on Epic rarity draws is not the best course of action in my situation. I can start focusing on Legendary rarity reward cards or on my Gladiator cards.

Legendary cards are expensive draws and there are a lot of them.

As you can see most of my legendary cards are at level one or two. It might be fairly easy to get these cards up to level two and even level three, but I am not sure how playable these are at level three in the Diamond / Champion. Any one has an opinion on that?

Please comment below.

If you take a look at my Gladiator cards you will see that I have only maxed out one card: Jini Guise which is a legendary I barely even use in brawls. I think if I focus on these I can fairly quickly bump these up to more playable levels.

One change I am thinking of as well is to buy all the Ultimate chest rewards which I have not been able to do.

Please comment below what you would do in this situation, I am genuinely interested if you might have better ideas.

I have a hunch that the legendary cards are going to be more important once we get the modern rotation, and I am in fact using them more than I would have expected, even if they are mostly at level 3 for me. Emberguard, Gallicus, Death Ranger and to a lesser extent the 1 mana cards, are in play for me.

My own glint strategy has revolved around completing the whole set, which means doing a significant number of legendary draws. Legendary draws are less exciting than chests, but I feel they are necessary.

I did in fact make a little program that tells me how to spend my glint depending on my current progress (with the goal of completing the regular foil set). With your progress it currently suggests to buy:

  1. Legendary draw batch 1
  2. Legendary draw batch 2
  3. Major chest batch 1
  4. Ultimate chest batch 1
  5. Minor chest batch 1

I don't know about that second batch of legendary draws, but its what the program wants.

Wow! Thank you, that is helpful! I don't think that I would go for the second batch of legendary cards, but the rest sounds pretty solid.

Interesting that it puts ultimate before minor chests. I like minor chests almost as much as major, but given the fact that I practically maxed out rare and epic cards it makes sense. @topcomment
